 		[SPEC] The Tanker is holding Baby Monsters
the military wants the small monsters
My guess is that SLUSHO! actually has nothing to do with the monster attack. Tagruato was actually harvesting the baby "alien" monsters for the military who wanted to study them for possible use as a weapon.

This would explain why the the huge "mama" monster followed the tanker back to NYC. It also explains why the military got to NYC so quickly? They were there because they were expecting a shipment of their potential "secret experimental weapons".

When the tanker exploded you can see the baby critters being launched into the air.

 		Although it's quite possible the huge explosion is the tanker, we still aren't sure. It's just on fire.

I'm really hoping the objects flying from the explosion are just debris.

 		This whole thing sounds like some sort of military experiment gone wrong like in "The Mist".
