Question About SOL head ripped off

I dont know if this has been discussed already, I am sure it has, to lazy to look. I have been thinking this for a while why would the monster just rip off the SOL head and throw it instead of knocking the whole thing down. Im guessing its either angry. or smart enough to do that. I mean if I was some monster just woken up , why would I rip off the head and throw it into NYC with precision and not just trash everything

Hm interesting, It has to power to destroy huge skyscrapers in a snap, yet only rips off a small part of the SoL. Never thought about that.

Maybe he's got an alarm clock in the shape of the SOL's head.

Smile

I don't think they'd want the whole statue ripped up or destroyed, it's less effective for their poster campaign. The imagery is what works here.

No, I understand how good it looks for the movie poster and everything, but just a question i had u know, about realistically if a monster was here in NYC, but as far as the monster in the movie it makes u think it might be smart, or just have something against New Yorkers, Wink

For sure, if it were to happen for real that'd definitely be a sign of intelligence.

I mean look at 9/11.

I had just turned on the BBC over here in the UK at 1:15 (Quincey was coming on soon) when the report came in a minute later. Bad luck, thought I, watching live footage and feeling for the families of this tragic accident. When, all of a sudden, it happens again - SNAP! intelligence presents itself.

If the head of the SOL were chucked into the middle of New York, a good few minutes after an oil tanker had been overturned and an earthquake felt I'd think SNAP! intelligence again.

But I doubt they'll go into MGP's Ego and Id complex too much during the film.

EDIT: My siggie is now working! yay!

Perhaps it is pretty simple and the Monster does not like the Face of the statue.

Because Matt Reeves got the idea from the Escape from Los Angeles poster.

That term is way older than that movie:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FUBAR#Etymology
Although Escape From L.A. could be said to be way more FUBAR than Tango and Cash. Laughing
