Poetic License. Site 447 sounds better than Site 1. I really don't think the numbers have an importance what-so-ever.

Here's a thought.

Maybe the government has divided the U.S into small areas (Manhattan and downtown New York would obviously be U.S. 447).

Thoughts?

How about it's just an arbitrary number? Are there 50 other legendary locations prior to Area 51?

Nice to be involved and speculate, but at times it's a tad bit too much.

actually the reason why its called Area 51 in the first place is because the US government divide a part of nevada into areas for testing nuclear bombs in the cold war so then they built the base in that one area called Area 51 so thats why we call it that and not because someone called it randomly but just that it just one of many names for the base and that one name stuck to the general public.....

but for cloverfield its still out there but i would like to think that most names have a purpose
