Seriously, what ever happened to the theory that the Cloverfield monster was "summoned" by Tag? He gets pulled here and Chuai gets pulled "there", no debris, brand new extra terrestrial (other worldly, alien, whatever gets translated from the Russian poster) appears on earth, probably confused. A few days later a Tag tanker happens upon the monster, the tanker flees to NY.

Did I miss something? I accounted for no debris, creation of the monster, missing station, delay in arriving at NYC

I'm officially in the weeds with that theory, I know... but it sounded fun

Everyone is forgetting travel times. Chuai is approximately 1600 miles from NYC assuming people are going and coming from there. Even at 20 MPH, a pretty good clip in a boat, it would take 3 days and would probably be closer to 4 in reality, especially with fighting the North Atlantic current on the way back. If new post was Jan 1 they were at Chuai 3 to 4 days prior.

Time line as I see it:

1st week Sept: Teddy goes undercover for Les Guerriers de Mère-Terre and gets a job on Chuai in preparation of an "event". Jaime puts up 1st video. Teddy soon realizes that there is some serious crap going on at Tagruato. He sends a package with evidence to cover his ass and to negotiate with just in case he does not remain undetected till Tidowave's "event". Tidowave is unaware of this evidence.

Oct. 4: Jaime posts video and she has the package. She has been told to wait till Dec. 9 to open as Teddy expects to be back by then as the "event" will be over and he won't need her to actually do anything.

Oct. 18: Jaime posts video and she is still in contact with Teddy.

Between Oct. 18 and Nov. 9 missing evidence is discovered by Chuai staff.

Nov. 10: Communication from Teddy to Jaime stops, probably discovered and being held.

Nov. 12: Jamie posts video and states she hasn't heard from Teddy in 2 days.

Nov. 24: In response to info gleaned from Teddy Tagruato issues memo locking down mail at Chuai as they are aware he has mailed something out but not to whom.

Between Nov 25 & 27 Whistle Blower sends out copy of memo with note about "Good people are going missing" referring to Teddy.

Dec. 10: Jaime opens box on video showing evidence. Tidowave announces problems with the "event", probably due to no communication from Teddy.
Event is rescheduled to Dec 14 but does not come off.

Dec. 17: Tidowave staff set off for event at Chuai deciding they can no longer wait to hear from Teddy.

Dec. 18: Whistle Blower sends 2nd message showing there was never any oil at Chuai and Tagruato knew it so Chuai must have some other function.

Dec. 18: Chuai is destroyed by MGP. Surviors are evacuated, perhaps to another station? Large debris is retrieved and sonar soundings taken to try to determine cause of Chuai destruction by Tagruato ship.

Dec 18: Teddy briefly has access to the Internet and posts distress call on Tidowave but is unable to contact Jaime.

Dec 22-26: Tidowave arrive at Chuai for "event" only to find nothing as Tagruato ship has departed and any remaining debris has long ago been taken by the North Atlantic current.

Dec. 26: Jaime posts video where she called Tagruato and they are now aware of a Teddy "contact" in NYC.

Dec 29: Whistle Blower sends copies of sonar soundings taken showing sea floor where Chuai sank.

Jan. 1: Tidowave staff return and report missing Chuai.

Jan 2: Randy is sure Teddy is now missing and FINALLY contacts Jamie as Teddy asked him to should the event fail and retrieves evidence. He lies to her to protect his operation and tells her Teddy has run off with some cow. Jamie hits the bottle like the drunken skank she is in video.

Guesses as to what's next?

MGP following sea traffic to NYC, no idea what pissed him off yet.
Probably messing with his Seabed Nector which turns out to be polluted waste which mutated and produced MGP to start with.

Teddy escapes and returns to NYC as MGP hits and calls her. She leaves Rob's party to go with him. Marlena is pissed as she is now left alone at party.

Ok the way I see things.

Randy and the others are missing. The 'Randy is missing" post was made by randy. Another post claiming that they couldn't contact their comrades was made later, also by Randy. It seems to me, that randy and some others went off to do something, and fell out of contact. A rescue mission was made, but they found no clues, or debris.

It would seem that the original mission was sent out to do something with a station (most likely the Chuai station). There was nothing there, and I would put forward that it is underwater, therefore linking to the post made on Tagruato. We cannot look at whether or not it is possible with out technology at its present, as this fiction, and the concept of a large monster is just plain impossible anyway. The Chuai station may be a station used for all sorts of tests...it is in international waters I believe. And is probably used for something other than oil. For example, testing weapons, or underwater things.

Another possibility is that the Chuai station was once above sea level, but they moved it underwater, as (like I said earlier) its probably used for testing. They may have been testing either submersible, or mobile drilling platforms. But I dont think the station was destroyed, but it was either moved, or never existed.


Another possibility for the Randy dissapearing thing. Is that they went to the chuai station, however they couldnt contact each other, as their communications were out (most likely they were on several boats). The post may have been made from a group, or person which had access the internet. The " They told me to post here" may refer to the others in the group, or the person was told to post if he lost contact with the others, possibly he hung back so that he could send work for back up if things go wrong. The next post, is after the group returns. The " There are already more rumors going around than I'd like" is probaly because of all the rumors spreading as Randy and the others have been reported missing. I am unsure whether randy made it back, but in this scenario, the journey refers to the 'event'. Anyway, while on that journey they got static when trying to contact each other, which is why the post made about the previous post was made. They also found that the station was missing.

If you look in the recent posts area, the two most recent updates have no heading while the others do. Considering one of the posts definitely wasn't written by Randy but used his account, this lends credence to the idea that the new update isn't by Randy.
