There is no bad publicity. Remember when every church group protested The Last Temptation of Christ?
Just the fact that the media was screaming at me to not watch it made me want to see it more.
Yeah thats true man. Any method of media speculation (bad or good) are going to rev up speculation about this movie.

I respect that. Now back on topic. Is the media going to raise the publicity of Cloverfield or ruin it?

no. there have been feature films about 9/11 since it happened. and you cant go into NYC without being reminded of it. every 30 feet there's a guy selling pictures of it, and anyone who's been there will agree with me.

so who's up for mass emailing FOX news ?

I'm down for that...

I mean, we gotta make sure and get our stuff straight... What's the biggest argument we have in our arsenal?

I personally think that it's the simple fact that the media has been feeding off of 9/11 since it happened. Everything from World Trade Center and United Flight 93 to The Kingdom... People sell trinkets, t-shirts, bumper regarding 9/11. The nation has bigger problems to worry about than whether or not a monster movie could be offensive to the public or not. How is it possible for us to state that a monster movie that takes place in NYC is more offensive then the simple fact that people have been making money off of that terrible tragedy since the day it happened? When did we become a nation of people who are so easy to get their feelings hurt or/and become offended by the slightest jesture. The biggest problem in our country is that we've forgotten out to just relax.

You know they'll just put you on Hannity & Colmes and you'll just be called unpatriotic and unamerican by Sean Hannity for half an hour, right?

It is stuff like this that people do that makes me wish there were more non-fatal stabbings for stupidity.

Oh, and mandatory sterility treatments.

Nah, I think Sean will love this movie! It's Colmes that would get all worked up about it. Either way, you're comin with me.

I am sorry, but that lady is deeply hurt by what happened to her. However what about the recent release of I am legend and that movies imagery., and the planes blowing up into the brooklyn bridge. I mean thats way more similar to 9/11

" Oh, and Fox did something else. On behalf of its sister company, 20th Century Fox, it trashed what looks like a hit movie soon to be released by one of its competitors." basically he is right, all about the competition

My Email to Fox News
Yes, I really sent what it says here

On January 2nd, you had a woman whose son perished in the 9/11 attacks speaking on how the movie "Cloverfield" parodied the images & the events that occured on said day. I strongly disagree about such statements. This is a MONSTER movie, not a movie about terrorism caused my man or any extremists, but by a MONSTER, a work of FICTION. This movie is about the monster's impact on NYC, it just so happens that it took the SOL's head an used it for a bowling ball, no offense expressed, and shows the point of view of 5 characters who are in NYC during the monster's rampage. Seriously, do you really expect a monster to NOT destroy half the city and leave disaster in its wake?

I'd like to point out that I mean no offense to the woman that was interviewed, she was just misinformed and she was trouted for it. I express my sympathy to her & her family for the pain they had to endure on 9/11.
