The trout is a sign of nice/gentle reminder that you have not searched through the forum to post in the ALREADY EXISTING thread about your agreement with a particular theory that has been previously discussed.
If you would ever bother reading more than you post, you would see that. These folks are just trying to help with links to the previous discussion that you didn't
find
look for.
Try the Search function every once in a while. Doesn't cost extra.
Yes I do read more than I post, and i know that this topic was posted before. It just hasnt been discussed in a while. I did a search and found everything before I posted by the way, I know how to use the search function. And a new thread doesnt cost extra either. Thanks for your advice

Enough with the trouts,...Ok, you found something posted before, but that just shows that other people agree with this theory. and some people may not know about the old post, you must like taking time out to find things like that. ridiculous
When in Rome buddy...
The trout is how it's done around here, long before you or I ever came around. I personally would prefer the moderation method of appending such threads to where the original references are, but that's just not how it's done around here - so I live with it. Both the trout and appending address an irritation most forum users everywhere have with people basically spamming the same thing over and over. When it's by accident it's a trout, and that's not a big deal - but you start allowing the 'trout' to run free and soon the method is picked up as trolling. I think we've already seen that here.

Unfortunately, we can split threads but cannot merge threads.
So we request that folks search and try to keep existing threads going rather than reposting old material creating new threads which then confuse other people.
And we have been doing this for 5 years. Worked great for the purpose for which this forum was originally intended, for playing Alternative Reality Games.
Turned out that 1-18-08.com really wasn't a rabbithole into an ARG in the sense that we have come to love them. It's turned into a multimedia marketing effort that has some interesting speculation and mass infusion of new folks jumping into unFiction before checking the water and realizing we're not like other forums.
We're a community that strives to solve puzzles. And we like to treat our members with respect. Moderators exist to help remind folks of the TOS and help solve problems within the confines of running the forum. But it is up to the members to think before they post, and help keep discussions on track, to determine the direction of a thread or to agree to disagree (but in a polite & friendly manner).

I just brought that back up because I knew that EXACT site had been linked to before, and I wanted to show people what was brought up back then.

Who says that the roar we hear isn't from a sonar?
The could have just thrown it in at some parts in the trailer.

just because a whale would sound different above water doesn't mean that the monster won't sound like a submerged whale. It's pretty obvious that the creators of the monster aren't restricted by the laws of physics. They can make it sound like whatever they want.

Yeah I am thinking a few of the real laws of physics as we know them are a bit twisted, hence a GIANT monster in NYC.

Does anyone have a sound of a whale call not in the water?
Is that even possible?
