[Spec]

So then is the sonar image showing the suspected spot something fell from space in relation to the Chuai location? Would they (TAG) move the station to go look for it? ... Because they already have deep sea drilling equip. and a staff so close by? If they were relocating Chuai, would implanted TIDO workers show themselves ("altercation") and protest because they knew more TIDO members were on the way and wouldn't find the station if moved? Once Tag found the space object or ??? then the station was destroyed so "debris" is in dif. location?

Just alot of SPEC

Hey, that does look like the same topographic as our son-air image...
Good call Euchre.

I don't see it, looks a bit like the top bit, but the rest isn't there.
It's also several hundred miles across.

Am I looking at it wrong? Confused

1220 miles from NY to Chuai. This means that the monster, should that be the cause of the chuai station incident, has 1 month (Dec 18 (first report of problem with event) to 1-18-08 (monster in NYC)) to travel that 1220 miles to NY. Can someone get us a speed of the monster here? Doesn't seem ultra-fast.

The calculation I believe you are looking for is:

30 days x 24 hours/day = 720 hours

1220 miles / 720 hours = 1.69 MPH

or for the metrically inclined, 2.73 kilometers per hour.

I don't know what value this has, though, since I don't think there's any implication that MGP would suddenly begin a beeline for Manhattan.

You do realize that the location of Chuai station means your tower would have to be over a mile tall, more like 2 miles. That's over 10,000 feet.
If the station isn't on the ocean surface, and it's on the seafloor, there would basically be cables between the two.
See here for details about the different types of rigs:

If you use the link for Google Maps you can view it without downloading anything special. You'll need to zoom out about 2/3 of the way to see anything, but at that zoom you can still see the landscape I am referring to. As noted before, it's almost right at the location of the Titanic - which is also mentioned in the widget quiz. Odd.

Umm, guys? This has been kinda discussed already (mainly by me):

MGP is an animal. Animal's have no sudden urge to go anywhere, but stay in there preffered habitat. MGP stays at his pad, and a Tag ship comes to investigate and sends some subs. MGP gets pissed and follows it to NYC. It's likely that MGP is extremely fast and gets there in one-two days. This means that the Tag ship must've went there on Jan 17-18.

Because of all the above here a comparison of Euchre's Google Earth coordinates of the appr. position of Chuai and the Sonar_2 pictures sent by The Whistleblower:

Scale or not, there just aren't drilling rigs with towers that are over 2 miles tall. The depth in most of the possible area of Chuai is about 12,500 feet (based on the Titanic's depth of 12,536 feet). The tallest rig is just over a quarter mile tall (Petronius Platform). The deepest ocean drilling is done from floating platforms or drilling ships, like the interesting Japanese project Chikyu Hakken.

So if it takes 3 days that means MGP and the ship he's following are going about 34 mph, or 29.5 knots. The fastest tanker in the world the Kuroshio-maru only goes 20.5 knots.

Holy crap, you know what that's indicating at...

Either it's a mistake or coincidence, or iceberg schmiceberg. If the back story really goes that deep into historical events, than i'm starting to get creeped out.

I doubt there's gonna try to say that MGP sank the Titanic.

Several people on the ship saw the iceberg, and so did the rescue ships, they even tracked the iceberg untill it melted in the caribbean.

..... or maybe since they all saw an iceberg... they just ASSUMED that's what sank the Titanic?

Dammit! now you've got me thinking about it!

Here you have it, all who doubt Chuai is close:
