[SPEC][QUESTION]Does anybody else see gunfire? Hey all. I did as good a search as I could with that awful 103 page thread...
But in the spanish clip, when they're showing the scenes of Chuai before its actual collapse, I see little bursts of light that look a lot like gunfire. Could those quasi-ninjas be shooting at MGP in the water?
If this is trout, can I at least have mine panfried?

I don't think anyone has confirmed for sure that it is actually gunfire. It's not trout, that thread is huge, I don't blame you.

I'm 99% certain it's gunfire. If you look closely, specifically on the right side of Chuai, you can see tiny particles accelerating very quickly from the flashes of light in a straight line down into the water, so I don't think it would just be debris. They might not have known exactly what it was, but the quasi-ninjas could probably see at least a silhouette of MGP.
So, in my eyes, this means two things: One, that Tagruato knows what attacked the station (MGP). I bet they knew before, going back to the "they've found something" quote. And now, they have to find out how to cover up their knowledge of MGP.

it was hinted on in that thread, but buried, it doesn't deserve a trout
but yes, it's gunfire, i remember one newscast talking about them firing into the water, but i don't remember which, tag has a private army on board, so its not unlikely they was firing at MGP or TIDO, as tag says...

The muzzle flash looks too big to be from a gun as does the projectile, if they knew what they were facing, would it be possible to have a rocket assisted harpoon gun or maybe a SMAW/SRAW/RPG to fend off potential oil-rig destroying things?

Doesn't seem unlikely considering the news coverage that states Tagruato has been rumored to have a large private army. I wonder if they know Ross Perot or Dick Cheney.

It's actually tension cords snapping. Those oil rigs have tension cords running up and down the pillars that hold them up and what you are seeing is the cords snapping and flailing downward towards the water. I think it may appear as bursts of gunfire because of the quality of the video. Also the scale of the size of the burst is impossible.

It's gunfire, you see multiple bursts in the same directions.

Do oil rigs (well, modern day ones anyway) have defense stations against pirates?
I know in the old days, or the early days of these platforms, they did. And pirates are, as odd as it might sound, a modern day reality.

they look nothing like gunfire bursts. There are multiple tension cords attached to each harness all around the thing. I'll stick with my idea.

As was mentioned, a news report says those bursts are infact gunfire.
And it looks like gunfire to me

Doing some quick research on Oil Rigs, Chuai is the kind that's on the left:
General design of most floating rigs:
Here's what a sinking deep sea rig looks like:
I don't see any tension wires just large braces. However if you look at Chuai:
There are no braces, and as such:
Behold, Tension cords, dozens of them. What this means is that the bursts are probably these cords snapping as the underwater frame is ripped and twisted and the pylons are pulled away from each other.
Might as well prove that it has them through pics

News Reports said that there were explosives in the Twin Towers, now look at where that's got us. A whole new kind of crazy. It's called "There's not enough info so lets say what we think it is" Same thing about the English clip saying there's oil in the ocean while Chuai doesn't have oil.
