[OT]What do you people do?
When you're not on this board

Everyone's favorite topic is themselves, so i thought those that want could tell a little about themselves, and what they do when they're not wasting time on this board. Contrary to what our special guest poster said last night, I'm pretty sure everyone here has a life outside the internet.

No real names are required, but I'll give mine:

I'm Geoff, I live in Tennessee, and I work for Miller Brewing Company. I spend my Monday through Friday delivering the God-Juice: Beer!

On the weekends I let my inner nerd out a bit. I have a collection of Sci-Fi movie props and replicas, mostly costumes. Occasionally i put them on and attend those greatest of nerd-gatherings known as CONS.

Here's some pics of me being a geek:

Here's some of my screen used Starship Troopers gear

It don't get more nerdier than that! Who's next?

I am Ben, also from Tennesse. I am a huge movie nerd and music geek video game freak. I have the Ghostbusters logo tattooes on my right arm, the trinity ("logo" for P.O.D.) on my left arm, and the triforce on my left forearm. I have a massive dvd collection of over 200 movies. I will watch most anything, the only movie i have quit watching was Nacho Libre. Every other movie i have started i have finished.

I'm Michael, 22, from New Jersey. I'm a huge book and movie freak. (I have over 900 DVDs and nearly 400 paperback books - very few hardcovers) I also work for a company that markets computer software to small businesses and make a very decent living. I do web/graphic design on the side and play in a band. I'm also a huge "LOST" nut.

I am the Mullet Man, I am a superhero assigned to protect a town out in the middle of nowhere that's full of trailer parks.

j/k

I'm Sam, a student graphics designers stuck in a town out in the middle of nowhere that's full of trailer parks and also happens to have a mullet.....

And this is Indiana....

....yeah I'm popular.....

I waste my time on the internet and modding a video game no one plays anymore called Trespasser: Jurassic Park. Well, a few people play it at TresCom.org, but that's about it.

Worst I've got is a 24 foot Dr. Who scarf crocheted lovingly for me over 20 years ago. I just bought the 4 disc Blade Runner set...
More of a geek than a nerd I suppose.
I do have well over a dozen computer systems in my house. The room I am in now is just for computers. Once I get the Cat5 run, I'll have internet access in every room but my bathrooms and maybe the kitchen (still debating that). There's a server rack in my garage waiting for use, and I've got one older rackmount HP waiting to go into it. Despite this, I don't own an iPod, a PDA, not even a fancy cell phone/communications device (just a basic dead reliable Nokia).

I do indeed pale in comparison to most here for nerdiness and super-edgy geekiness...
I can live with that. Wink

I'm 22, I keep my nerdiness hidden from public view unlike the previous brave souls. btw, where in all that's good in this world did you get an Alien Costume???? I want one.

Anyways, I'm from Texas born and raised... it would be nice to see snow for more than a week... I'm a forklift driver at a distribution company, I play piano and record music. I love lamp.

You're too Goddamned tall to be a Stormtrooper!

When i'm not spending half my night hours away here, i'm usually being a non-geeky sociable bud of buds. Yes, i'd prefer a movie with the ladyfriend to a Star Wars convention any day.

But... that's not to say I don't have my unbelievably geeky side too. Yes, i'm also a fan of Star Wars and Starship Troopers (the first movie, cause the second one looked like it could be a Sci-Fi channel original), but i'm a fan of a lot of things. I honestly don't think I want to make my own Stormtrooper costume and join the 501st Legion on parades in the middle of Winter, but I have prioritized public Star Wars events or gatherings before... 'cept i've never gone to any of them anyway. I probably never will.

But I don't condone geekyness. In fact, I don't care. People like things and that's just how you roll.

Blah, I love movies. Movies are one thing I have a true passion for. Movies are the best form of entertainment ever conceived.

A ...dozen... computer systems...?

And you say you're not an uber-geek.

I just this year got a new computer. My old one was manufactured in 1998.
