Currently, my favorite band is the Dear Hunter. Absolutely fabulous band, progressive in the ways that older bands like Floyd were progressive. Huge array of musical instruments/styles. Vocal melodies and harmonies are some of the absolute best I've ever heard. Lyrically, Casey is unmatched.

Other bands I adore: 3, Protest the Hero, Coheed and Cambria, Dream Theater, Opeth, Circa Survive, The Receiving End of Sirens, The mars Volta, the Fall of Troy, muse, Pearl Jam, led Zeppelin, Joey Eppard, Iron & Wine, and Stars.

Mostly progressive stuff, bu the occasional post-hardcore/indie band sneaks in there

GB is probably my favorite hardcore band of all time with Ignite and Cro-Mags running neck and neck for the second slot. Anything Walter does, Quicksand, Walking Concert, etc are amazing.

I listen to everything from the above mentioned hardcore from my youth to The Beatles, Led Zep, Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Muse, Ben Kweller, Mew, Iron Maiden, Jimmy Eat World.

Other bands that I've been getting into more lately: The Shins, Spoon, The National, Silversun Pickups.
