Oh, I wouldn't say that. I've read the spoilers and I'd still love to see more of the online story play out. There's still plenty of room for a writer to play around Smile

That said, I think if the online story stopped now, we will have reached a good place to stop. Consider that with the footage of the Chuai station collapse, everything is tied together in a neat bow.

Tagruato: Whether they woke MGP up directly or not, their poking around in the ocean finally came back to bite them. Maybe next time they'll be more careful about where they stick a station.

TIDOWave: They'd enjoy the irony of Tag losing a station to a deep sea lifeform. Too bad the combined efforts of Tag and MGP has pretty much decimated the group. They're on the run, and not likely to head above ground again any time soon (or at least before MGP comes calling).

Slusho: Hey, that's where Rob's going to work! Smile

Jamie: Poor girl. Her boyfriend's most likely fish food, and she's tripped out on SBN. She didn't follow his directions, and so Chuai won't be investigated in time to figure out what really happened.

MySpace: So, now we know why Rob's leaving. Beth broke his heart by dating other people. That sets up the dramatic tension for the movie.

That all said, there is NO reason for Rob and company to suspect that MGP and Tagruato/Slusho are related. There's NO reason for Jamie to suspect that MGP, Slusho, and Teddy's disappearance are related. And worst of all, thanks to a nice Tagruato coverup with TIDOWave as the goats, no one expects the Spanish Inqui*ahem* I mean MGP to exist.

The payoff of this story was seeing the first attack of MGP in a way that we won't get in the movie. It was a way to tell a Cloverfield story and break the boundaries set forth in the movie (single point of view). We got that, we're good. Anything else after the fact is frosting on the cake.

This post was the Frosting on the cake for me...THANK YOU. I, like everyone else, was feverishly checking for updates and working out theories in my head when I should be concentrating on more important things (what that light red or yellow?). Seeing this post made me realize that I could walk away from this ARG now and still feel good about it. Everything is basically positioned for the experience in the theater.

Are there still unanswered questions? Sure, but no more than you would get at the end of any other movie hoping for a sequel. Wow I really feel liberated...thanks again.
