I'm STILL reading through this massively growing thread, so someone may have pointed this out -but I'm of the opinion in the shot of rig crashing down into the water (shot from a heli) that the right "leg" of the rig is being forcably yanked -It's on the shot where someone was speculating there might be a tentacle in the water.

Can't say for sure -I'm certainly no demo-expert, but to me and my limited experience in animation, it looks like it's being yanked to the right from underneath the surface.

hey Headman, post those two pics again! I think your on to something, not that it could take us very far but I don't think they would have shot that clip of the older japanese guy the way they did to show the other guy in the background like that if they didn't want us to look a "little closer".

Suppose it's possible that the guy in the helicopter with the briefcase could be Ganu? Then again probably not or it would have been mentioned in one of the reports.

Besides, that still doesn't change the fact that MGP is a lot lighter than Black. I live in a town and even I know that black things are still black when streetlights light them up.

Just because they didn't spend a lot of time getting the lighting right doesn't mean they'd cut back in other areas.

I'm a 3D modeler/animator. We prefer to add lots of details to give the most real feel possible.

Just reply to it with your thoughts and it should re-post at the end with the pictures. Wink

I'm talking about what we see IN THE TRAILERS. MGP is not black in the trailers. What does a shark have to do with this?

ok guys LOOK AT THE GREEN SQUARE ON THE STATION! LOOK AT WHERE IT IS WHEN ITS ALMOST DONE SINKING! NOW LOOK AT THE LOCATION OF THE GREEN SQUARE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE RESCUE BOAT! They are OFF TO THE SIDE! It's NOT the boat! It's something coming out of the station! If not oil, then fuel.

Can a Lion swim?

and you're right about that... but if that were true, a good 3D Modeler/animator would know to start with the detail that people are going to notice first... I notice the sinking Chuai station first... That should have had the extra detail, not that black spot.

no I'm not talking about the guy in the helicopter, I'm talking about the guy in the background of the older asian dude talking on camera. I tried to copy the pics from Headman's post but it wouldn't work.

Ok. As has been said before, who cares if it's MGP or not?

The footage is too low quality to tell anything, or it would be abundantly clear that it is him. This is a pointless debate over something that will lead nowhere. Even if you come up with conclusive evidence that this blurry black shape IS the monster, then what? We have a blurry black shape. That tells us nothing. Instead of wasting time and energy debating over this, why not try figuring out something more useful, like where these clips came from?
