I want that in my yard. Anybody that gets offended by that needs to lay off the "Sensitivity Training" classes.

Heh, you have to hand it to them they've been going full tilt on the grab factors for the campaign.
Very cool to see that at least some of the Statue Of Liberty shots were done using a physical model... you'd think they'd have just gone for a CGI model, although a physical one involves less CG work.
And that guy who compared it to hanging Nazi swastikas outside, get a bit of perspective, mate!

NICE!
I want that in my yard too.
The ultimate would be to have one in a yard and about a few blocks down have the head in another. If you lived on waterfront property with a dock, a model of a Tagruato tanker complete with flames would top it off.

No kidding, people get there panties in a bunch to much nowadays. I would definitely put that in my yard. That would be perfect Euchre.

Now that is cool. I would so love to have one of those too.
Yeah, that guy talking about the Nazi flag just proves that this world is full of oversensitive morons. I hope we outnumber them.

Official or otherwise. Anyone remember a Statue of Liberty souvenir that had been broken (it's head snapped off) and was being sold on eBay as a Cloverfield related item?
I hope they produce something model-like given how iconic the events surrounding the statue have become. I can imagine at least two items, a beheadded statue that possibly has a scale head and then a replica of the banged up head on its own, that'd be larger item as it'd be more detailed.

I have just the spot on my property for that! I would even have a spotlight installed on top of the house to shine on the missing head.

Even if I had a miniature to put on my shelf, I would be the happiest man in the world.

FYI the statue is within the gates of the studio (the gate pictured in these photos is no longer the studio gate, it's an old one that is now inside the lot); it isn't like it's out on the street for everybody to drive past ... you can only see it from outside if you're really looking for it. So it isn't like they're rubbing it in the faces of people who might be bothered by it. Paramount always puts some kind of statue or promotional thingy in that spot for their bigger movies, like when Transformers opened they had a statue of Bumblebee that was pretty amazing. I think it's more of an internal chest-thumping thing than what you'd call advertising.
It seems unlikely to me that they'd sell decapitated SOLs to merchandise this movie ... but I'm not a marketer so what do I know.
