It's a lame nickname for the Monster.
But this obviously causes confusion, so it is best to just call it "the monster"
Well...that's, like.. your opinion, man
You're like my main "The Dude"

The shark in Jaws was "Bruce"; so MGP doesn't seem so bad.

I still think it should be Clover, that's what the cast/crew called it...
Also, the "official" name to kaitei no mitsu is Seabed's Nectar, a la Slusho Distribution page.

MGP is probably the gayest thing i've heard in a long time... Probably since Chris Crocker.
Mr. Grumpy Pants doesn't even give our monster any respect. You could probably see what age group likes the name and what age group doesn't like the name... I hope an official name is given one day.

I'd prefer our monster be named 'steve' or 'simon' over "Mr. Grumpypants" any day.

Who came up with "Mr Grumpy Pants", anyway? It had to be somebody on this board.

Mr. Grumpypants does sound a little lame.
But for some reason I think MGP sounds cool.
It's like, "OMG, MGP!"
And then people admire how cool you are because you just made a whole sentence using acronyms.

Not a big fan of the MGP monicker myself...but I tend to keep using that reference since most people seem to know what it means.
Plus...it easier to type than, 'the monster'.
