It's not a bad theory. It's different which is good. I think the issue with it if that, in fact, the storyline is Tagruato is or was holding the monster, why would they keep this discovery a secret? Because their secret addictive ingredient came from a pores from a monster? If everyone knew how bad cigarettes were 60 years ago, nobody would of started lighting up.

Also I think it bears too much resemblance to another fun drink with an "S" in it:

edit: eh, kinda beaten...

that would mean there is several more monsters around the world, well at each station atleast

Why is that? Chuai is the only station that didn't have oil.

Chuai was built, or made active, in September of last year. Slusho! has been the 2nd most popular drink in Japan and whatnot for the last 2 years

Read my last post in this topic, this theory would explain the lack of monsters at other stations...

hmm... I don't think so. I mean.. they may not be "evil" as people make them out to be, but I think that they are at least money-grubbing corporate types that will take the darker path if it means a profit. If they were not directly aware of this creature, I think their bad choices about drilling or harvesting led to its awakening.

Also, consider: If the DSI was such a great thing... makes people stronger, has regenerative powers and so on, why would they keep it all to themselves? To make an addictive drink? Sounds like it could have amazing medical benefits (as far as they know), but they choose instead to hide it, to hoard it, to not pay attention to warnings, and all for the sake of the $.

So no.. maybe not evil per se, but hardly "good."

I think it would be great if it turned out that the 'Mr Grumpypants World Tour' was because of TIDOwave

Tagruato had it contained, and TIDO caused it to be set free. Enviro-nuts never think about the effects of the things they do, like in 28 Days Later.

i think it's a strong theory. clearly, as any lost fan knows, jj abrams appreciates grey areas--or at least serious ambiguity--when it comes to good and evil. so that's definitely good thinking. plus that tension can really make a story scarier and more compelling than just plain evil.

Exactly! If people knew the secret ingredient to Slusho was from some crazy monster sweat or something would they still drink it?

Unless they are as dumb as Fry, I doubt it.

P.S.
If anyone has seen that episode and actually remembers it really well, they will know what I'm talking about with Fry lol.

My wife said the same thing about my Slusho commercial entry.

i like that theory....28 days later made the eco-fighters seem like the idiots, and not the evil company who was experimenting.

I also dont think the ship was transporting the monster...cause that would ahve to be a big damn ship. I believe that he might be led there...maybe the ship was transporting the DSI and the monster follows its scent, maybe it was sonar, maybe TAG can control it, and releases it on new york

Y'know, I actually had a similar thought.

How surprising would it be if TIDOwave ended up being the truly evil. sinister ones and Tagruato was just an innocent bystander who got picked on and threatened.
