Re: a tale of two logins

and how pray tell do you know for a fact that 'anna' is a username?

'anna' as the username and an incorrect password, you het the 'incorrect password' error message. A invalid username gets the 'nvalid username' error message.

http://enitechlabs.com/blog/wp-login.php since you do get a login name confirm even if your password is wrong.

I know I was thinking it might be the login we were looking for, but I assure you I was wrong. the Dyson Trust site has a secure login that seems to be much what we are looking for

http://dysontrust.org/secure

sorry for my part in leading anyone down the wrong path with the wordpress login.

Any more luck with the Trust's login?

Just to clarify... You're still talking about the Wordpress login for the Enitech blog.

Given that that's a password for their cms, and assuming that having posting access on their blog isn't part of the game, it might be safe to assume that it's OOG for now...

(though as I type that, I do wonder if there aren't any drafts of posts that we're supposed to discover... also, why would the character have a word press login? But, then again, Anna is a common name, and it could be shared with one of the games' developers...)

Oh, damn... I've come full circle and don't know if trying to gain access to the blog's backend should be considered out of bounds or not...

I've done that so many times already with this game, that I don't even know if I'm actually a PM, or a player.

Laughing

Not to undermine my position... The only reason I'd question whether we should or shouldn't try to access the blog is because the posts don't show the author's name...

That was the one reason I could think of to give a character user access... But since we don't know who on the team is "actually" posting, the username to access the blog could be anything...

As I said, we could be looking at a coincidence between a character and a designer having the same first name... or we could be looking at a poor design choice...

I'm kinda confused on what we need to do, but then again I haven't really got the game back into my head fully, but I'm sure later today something will click, and I'll figure something out.

Ah, yeah, sorry. Yeah, I've been talking about the enitech login. For some reason, I'm unable to access the Dyson Trust site.

Seeing as how the Enitech login link is in the "Meta" section of links, it's probably be best to leave it, at least for the time being.

middle names
does this help?

Hey guys - found you on a search for Enitech after seeing it on the terminatorfiles.com. Man you guys have been busy!

I had a look at this site: http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/

and pulled out the following years:

1907 - Albert A. Michelson
1939 - Ernest Lawrence
1944 - Isidor Isaac Rabi
1975 - Aage N. Bohr, Ben R. Mottelson, James Rainwater
1997 - Steven Chu, Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, William D. Phillips
1998 - Robert B. Laughlin, Horst L. Störmer, Daniel C. Tsui

So I figured it had to be something with the middle names (like the latin said) - they nearly all have middle initials right? Quick search shows Ernest Orlando Lawrence which gives:

(A) - (O) - (I) - (N or R) - (D) - (B or L or C)

so I started looking for words that were the following combos:
AOINDB
AOINDL
AOINDC
AOIRDB
AOIRDL
AOIRDC

Well that takes forever! Here's what I found:
LADINO (!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladino_language
ANODIC (!) http://medical.merriam-webster.com/medical/anodic
ROBIDA (!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Robida

T-1000, welcome to the club house.

Yes, we have been somewhat busy trying to get to the bottom of EniTech Research. Thanks for contributing what you found.

Were there any other combinations that seemed vaguely promising?

I can hardly get in here today... loading problems... darn that Cloverfield!

Anyway... take a look at the new post on the Enitech Blog. It has a bunch of pictures. Their filenames are in this order:

r0001.jpg
o000.jpg
b0003.jpg
i0004.jpg
d0005.jpg
a0006.jpg

I assume the "o" is a typo and should be "o0002.jpg"

Which points at the Albert Robida from T-1000's post. Ok let's hope this submits and doesn't timeout.

the question is have we found the password, or the login?

Also, there is something eerily Oklahoma City bombing-esque with the new photos, especially the 4th one.

Interesting article on Robida:
Robida, Future Man
Quote:
There it was, circa 1870, and the man had conceived of the Telephonoscope, a screen on which spectators could see events taking place at another far away location, in real time.

He also envisioned 'microbe bombs.'

This is SO COOOL!

Hey thanks for not calling me an idiot - I can't believe there was another clue that it was ROBIDA! I just tried a ton of combinations and nailed it:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
anna_kies
ROBIDA

Whoa.

Good one! Stick it behind a spoiler next time so other people can find it too if they want to... in fact you can edit your post and do that Smile but you did it! Very cool!
