I did it. I've had this stupid tetra sitting on my desk for four days. I can't figure the dang thing out. I think it's only purpose it to make my brain bleed in unnatural ways =(

OK, I'm going to attempt to use bruce's tracings as textures in Maya and see what shows up.

New email message from the resistance

I received this and have warned Anna. I hope that Enitech listens this time.

Quote:
There is another SkyNet terminator on the loose. It is not Cromartie. He is looking to kill everyone from Enitech. He is missing most of his skin after an explosion last night at one of our Oakland safe houses. 2 of our men were killed. Anna is the next target.

Sorry theBruce, but my paper triangle doesn't look like your renderings. You seem to be viewing it through the base, rather from the point down, if that makers any sense.

Mike also seems to think it's a predictive neutral net. We put in 6 numbers, then get the seventh in the sequence. Or something. Possibly significant is when folded, the six little circles form three pairs along one edge, which lead to the 'answer' circle at the vertex.

I'm also beginning to wonder if the mysterious lines disappearing off the edge wasn't a red herring, to 'confuse the machines'.

Space reserved for my latest thoughts.

LAT 37° 53' 39.28" LON -122° 31' 41.60" is the National Weather Service HQ in Hastings, Nebraska (6365 Osborne Dr in West Hastings.) I've never been there either.
2391 Seaway is in Brewster, Massachusetts, on the peninsula. Who wants clam chowder?

At least now they gave us a much cleaner, more ambiguous image to work on, despite not knowing how Mike arrived at it, unless of course it's from Jake which seems to make more sense. Frankly, I'm sticking a fork in this one since I'm not a neural network programmer and I assume most of you aren't either. I assume that by inputting number pairs they mean to input the coordinates where the cameras were found, but since I don't have a clue how to program neural networks I can't do that. Besides, I still have no idea how to add weight to the hidden nodes of the neural network to correctly output what they want us to see.

However, the new diagram looks like a Circle of Fifths.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_of_fifths
or a Chromatic Circle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatic_circle
which would make this puzzle a helluva lot more relevant to Mike's convo with Anna. So, a possible solve would be to space out the pitch classes evenly around the outside of the diagram (or just start with C at the top which makes the most sense) and plot out the notes as sheet music or another string chart. I'll be working on it, albeit slowly because I'm being attacked by an army of Rhinoviruses, so anyone more educated in the process could likely beat me to it.

BlueCom

Is the Bruce mentioned in the blog entry, thebruce?

eta* A login has been added for BlueCom project at Dyson Trust.

I was hoping that was all that was needed was to send them an image of a tetrahedron and they would miraculously discern something from it. Does this mean we can stop beating ourselves up over this?

I must be doing it wrong, I come up with Mill Valley, Ca, near San Fransisco.

Ok, don't crucify me on this Razz

Earlier this morning (as in 12:40am, Thrusday) I received a response to the email I sent with my crappy little picture of the pyramid attached (as posted earlier). I said it was teamwork and credited 'those I've been working with', but they decided to offer me a login, informing me I'd have access to their BlueCom project and to work with them. I did get it, but given the questionable reference by the PMs (Anna) in a blog entry to unfiction, and the sensitive / secret nature of this project, I was faced with the dilemma of risking mentioning it here and breaking the trust (pun!) shown me in-game.
... this is a perfect example of why PMs shouldn't even acknowledge the existence of these forums in-game, because we want to encourage community teamwork rather than have to keep things secret.
I was contemplating sharing in IRC and keeping the info there (directing people there from here) for the time being (which is about as "secure" as UF, but hasn't been mentioned in-game); at least until DT came forward about BlueCom. *phew*

Anyway - now that it's out in the open (though i don't want to give out my login/pass) - logging in presents me with an interface to Dyson Trust's BlueCom neural network. Apparently DT has been developing an advanced AI research program (BlueCom), and they feel this diagram is exactly the kind of "cutting edge thinking" to match with it.

BlueCom prompts for 6 entry strings (I can input any length of text for each, and any character is allowed). After 6 are entered, it then produces a resulting diagram which seems related to the characters entered (even single character differences in one string cause variations in the diagram). The diagram is exactly the same form as the one below Mike's notes on today's first blog entry at Enitech.
eta: There's also a central character that changes as a result of the diagram being shown. That is, the resulting character seems directly related to the 6 entry values character for character

So, we've got 6 sets of GPS coordinates via his notes, and I've just tried variations on all 6 of them (even converted the lat/long coords to gps decimal to match the other 5 coords). The kicker is that even the space, comma, and dash are taken into account for the calculated diagram.
That is, I could enter coordinates with variations of the comma and space:
"37.947057 -122.570434", "37.947057, -122.570434", or "37.947057-122.570434" (exactly the same coordinates) and get three variant diagrams.

Leaving all 6 entries blank produces a simple diagram (a small 6 pointed star around the central axis). see attachment below.

I've emailed Dyson again with the coordinates to see if they have any 'insight' in how to interpret the 6 entry nodes and/or coordinate pairs.

- my guess is they used the diagram from the symbols, setting up BlueCom to calculate/predict using that neural network... now it needs the entry values.

Thanks. Not necessary, I have the workprints of the show. However, if you mean Universal Studios Florida, there's 1 thing you can photograph for me there.

Here are the new pics. The Skynet building in T2 3D, pyramid like, still i don't think it's what you are looking for. However, any guess is welcome I hope:

The T-888 Terminator in the SCC show is called Cromartie ("Chrome Artie"), somehow the names look similar to me. Maybe it's indeed related.

Don't flame me or so, but it isn't Cheyenne Mountain in Nebraska? Cheyenne Mountain is an important place in the Terminator mythology. According to the T2 novel, Skynet was housed in the SAC-NORAD bunker inside Cheyenne Mountain.

Pretty sure I located where the coordinates Mike mentioned are.

It's in Marin county, as would correlate with the photograph. It's where Jacob's death photograph was taken. In decimals, the coordinates are 37.894244 -122.528222.

No flames needed if you don't know where something is. Cheyenne Mountain is in Colorado. Although Nebraska holds important military architecture as well.

I feel the need to ask this question, and like Hopeofthefuture said, don't flame me. What are we doing in game here? It looks to me like we are helping the Dyson people with an AI project. Doesn't that seem bad to anyone else? Like we want to stop these guys from getting AI plans? I understand this is where we are being led by the PMs, but what is the point of it?

It would seem that way, but then why would the Resistance want us to see the diagrams? I suppose we could send them an email and see if this was a bad idea. It did get us a man on the inside now.

perhaps the resistance wants to build up an offensive bias opposite AI programmed to fight Skynet and help the humans? Razz

If that is true, then we may are building Cameron Philips. Razz

Thanks for the answers guys.
