[SPEC/THEORY] Has anyone stopped to think about this?
Maybe Tagruato isn't the "evil corporation" we believe it to be.

For some reason I don't think it was Tagruato's fault that Mr. Monsterface gets loose. Maybe something like 28 Days Later? I think this was mentioned before, but buried rather quickly.

Honestly, I don't think Tagruato even knew about the monster until after they built Chuai, then, since they figured they had better things to worry about (monsterface) they didn't bother drilling for oil. That would account for the paper we got from TWB about no oil being at Chuia.

Maybe Deep Sea Nectar is something from the monster itself? Kinda like that episode from Futurama with that Slurm stuff, has anyone seen that episode?

I think Tagruato was doing no harm with the monster, then Tidowave stepped in being the "radical" group they are, and messed everything up, thereby allowing the monster to get free. Tagruato sent in it's private army to try and keep the monster contained, but were unsuccessful and decided to abort and leave the station. Although, as we saw, not all got away alive.

Seems like it's possible to me, I thought I'd post it and see what everyone thought about it. I've been keeping up with Cloverfield and Unfiction since day one (seriously, from Transformers to now) and I would consider myself very knowledgeable with this game. If this theory doesn't make sense due to something I missed, please, feel free to let me know.

Best regards,
-Austin

It's not a bad theory. It's different which is good. I think the issue with it if that, in fact, the storyline is Tagruato is or was holding the monster, why would they keep this discovery a secret? Because their secret addictive ingredient came from a pores from a monster? If everyone knew how bad cigarettes were 60 years ago, nobody would of started lighting up.

Exactly! If people knew the secret ingredient to Slusho was from some crazy monster sweat or something would they still drink it?

Unless they are as dumb as Fry, I doubt it.

P.S.
If anyone has seen that episode and actually remembers it really well, they will know what I'm talking about with Fry lol.

Why is that? Chuai is the only station that didn't have oil.

Interesting theory. And it could be reasonable. I think, the whole secrets keeping by Tagruato are just profit oriented, and not evil-doing. They are like big corporations, which don't let their business rivals pass.

Mhm, but I guess anything goes. I could be wrong, remember the oil tanker in New York Harbor? Why was that there? I don't think they were transporting MGP, I mean, they would have had to capture it and unload it onto the tanker. But even then, why take it to the harbor? I think it was a delivery ship more then anything.

Everyone knew 60 years ago they were bad...cigarettes were not referred to as "Coffin nails" because they were strong as iron you know.

It's decent theory but boring movie wise. Villains are great. Twisted Evil

I'm still pretty certain that Tagruato is evil.

From the TIDOWave headlines pretty much hinting that they offed one of their own biologists for knowing too much to the fact that they are lying to their investors about what is being done at Chuai station.

They are at the very best a profit-hungry, manipulative deceitful company, and at the worst are up to something diabolic.

Maybe the DSI is some kind of organism that is being bred by tagruato in a very controlled environment and the TIDOwave people have sabotaged one of the "breeding stations", releasing some into the ocean, where it grew to it's full potential (being a huge angry monster)...

What I'm saying is that the DSI as it's been known for many years is just the early stage of the organism, manipulated/killed/whatever to prevent further development...

Tagruato states in one of the newscasts that TIDOwave has, in fact, already caused damage in the past...

Anyone???
