I believe the point of the post was to discuss the implications of this shift and what they might mean in-game. If you are not interested in participating in that discussion, there is no reason for you to even post to it. If you believe it is trout, find me a link.

Posting merely to ridicule the author for having put forth some effort offered voluntarily to the group is not only rude but counterproductive in the long-term.

Then he should have said that...

And yes, this has been brought up numerous times. Do I have to show you the link? no- find it your damn self. This is why people keep trouting, NO ONE actually looks at the forums anymore. They just start posting bullshit. Honestly, I've never met a single one of you in person, I don't owe you money, you haven't saved my life so if your feelings get hurt by sarcasm [humor], I won't be losing any sleep. And I'll say it again, I received NO special treatment when I fouled up, I got the same treatment this guy did. Did I complain? No, I got with the program and enjoyed the humor at my expense. In the broad spectrum of life- does it really matter what anyone says on this forum? No, so people really shouldn't be getting their feelings hurt over a stranger's sarcasm [humor].

Well, as foreign an idea as "hurt feelings" are to some people, it happens whether you think it should or not. You and others have said how much you don't know him (which is a moot point anyway) and YOUR feelings don't get hurt when someone puts you in your place -good for you -you're a big boy now -but what if he's some creepy guy who figures that you deserve to die and he'll figure out some way to see it happen.
Now, don't start preaching "probabilities" to me, but the fact has been stated by you yourself; you don't know him. And to me, that's a problem with people in general -if they don't know you, then go die in a ditch for all they care. And what a martyr you must feel like for having BRAVED THE FIRES OF FORUM HELL and you TOOK IT LIKE A MAN! Quit tooting your own fucking horn. You're a jerk and your only excuse is "It was sarcasm [humor] and I don't know anyone on here, so I can say whatever I want and not get a much deserved kick in the teeth."

Oh... and I hope that sarcasm [humor] was fucking funny enough for you "intellectuals" Bwahahahahaha -YOU SUCK AT LIFE.

Honestly, this isn't a statement about 'braving the forum.' It's about having a sense of humor. Again, when I go to bed tonight- I'll be sleeping on cloud 9. Just to let you know, you didn't 'put me in my place' with this response. You didn't really prove anything. Whether i'm a jerk or not just depends on how much of a sense of humor you have. It's all about perspective and growth. You get older, you find that it really doesn't matter what people say, you'll realize that words don't really hurt... Because in the end- they're just words and nothing more.

Maybe this thread wasn't meant to be humorous, but that's what it is. and the more you complain, the more humorous it is. I suppose what you're trying to do is 'flame' me right? I guess. again- cloud 9. Learn to laugh a bit at your own expense before you cast judgement upon others for their sense of humor.

I don't think anyone realized what was trying to say, because the theory was arbitrary at best it was hard for me to word it without just restating the ARG as a whole.

So if anyone wants to actually try and understand what i was trying to say other than hazing the hell out of me for saying something. You all were new at one point, and I am positive that none of you knew everything from the start. Everyones opinion and speculation adds up to the mythos of the cloverfield backstory. (albeit other ARG's) If everyones theory or speculation was immediately discredited because it wasn't understood rather than asking the poster what they meant, there really would not be much anyone knew about this story.

Anyways I will attempt to restate my theory.

I think that although the dates of the movie and story do not exactly sync up with real time dates, it does not necessarily mean that the things going on within the game are not progressing at a real time rate, seemingly syncing up with the date 1-18-08. I speculate that within the game, the monster has not already reached NYC. My theory is that this hasn't happened yet because the progression of the story was made to mimic what the actual progression of those events would be like, rather than just a PM releasing tidbits of information leading to the eventual conclusion of a story. And my point is not that the game is progressing in a lifelike time frame, it is that the release of the movie ties into the ARG, and therefore is a part of the game.

I have only been a part of a few ARG's, Halo 3, The Wyoming Incident, and Year Zero. So I am fairly new to it. But I can immediately tell the fashion in which the information is being let out by Bad Robot is more realistic and progressive than any of the aforementioned ARG's.

I realized I will get flamed, and everything else like it. I just wanted to clarify that.

And I hope people are being entertained, because after the hectic night yesterday, there needs to be some tension relief.

Does that mean Al Gore isn't real, either?

It's sad -

actually in this day it's a felony to threaten harm on the net - a fact many don't even realize.

Back to topic - Cloverfield has been a lot of fun to track here past 2 weeks leading up to movie.....

Why do you think he has no personality? Its because your imagination isnt powerful enough to give him one.

Lol, I think childhood shows like Reading Rainbow would saw differently. No, Al Gore doesn't have a personality because he probably lacks a sense of humor.

Hehe -this isn't about me, xboyonfirex. Never was. I was sticking up for a new member. And what my sense of humor finds so humorous is that your rationale is to suggest that I'm somehow too young to have a sense of humor or understand wit and sarcasm. Or that I have the least bit of interest in your sleeping patterns. Unfortunately for you and your your self-defeating (and apparently meaningless) words, you have made my argument for me. If you can't figure it out how, then I suggest you stop typing so suspiciously casual at me in a nonchalant, apathetic attempt to convince me that you sleep on clouds. Besides, boys on fire need no one to flame them.

This is so way off topic. I'm gonna cut this off here. If you care to continue to drone in my proverbial ear about how your sense of humor prevents anything you say from making you look like a jerk, please, by all means, feel free to send me a message.

-Late

lol... actually that disproves my theory that Al Gore has no sense of humor, cause with a wife like Tipper- you'd HAVE to have a sense of humor.

I still can't believe he Got a Nobel Peace Prize for saying something everyone already knew.

STD's are bad.... there. Where's my Nobel Peace Prize?
