I also recorded one that was part of something called "Viva La Cobra": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik62JdX0nz8

Kind of a weird way to advertise either show.... Confused

OK. As someone said earlier. MTV does Artist of The Week spots featuring any number of musical artists. The only real reason you see the Cloverfield spots like that is basically MTV's way of showing you two commercials at once.

It's not really anything special, like a hacked broadcast or something. Just the fact that being a Paramount spot it's virtually free air time, so may as well give out two company messages at once.

The last three weeks Flyleaf, Cobra Starship, and this week it's Kate Nash.

By the way Viva La Cobra is the name of Cobra Starship's album, and just a spoofed bit on MTV. Kinda making fun of Real World.

I've been watching the Cloverfield spots since they've begun on MTV and VH1. For a while there there were spots every other break. In prime time they've gotten lots of play. So thankfully they are trying.

doesnt that remind anyone of that weirdish lost advert we saw the other day? i m sure u cud find the topic on here...it was similar in the way that it randomly appeared in the programme and stuff. however it had these tv styled glitches in it as opposed to that weird square masking. strange...that lost ad might be legit after all!

obviously intentional.

you can see the cloverfield ad "blocks" flip in.. if it were hacked it would be abrupt..

Deal with it fellas. It's Paramount after all.
The only way to get a totally "indie" movie is to lend JJ 30 million dollars, which I won't.

Hope all this "standard" advertising boost Cloverfield's box office performance, so we get to see more movies like this in the future. If Cloverfield flops, forget about another "ARG". Ask the guys who did "Snakes on a Plane" for reference.
