Omg, octaine, I'm trouting you! That was already said by you twice one minute earlier!

It's a lame nickname for the Monster.
But this obviously causes confusion, so it is best to just call it "the monster"

MGP is a good name for a destructive reckless monster. Especially since the name George W. was taken.

LIES!
If Greenpeace can call their whale Mr Splashy Pants, we can call the monster Mr Grumpy Pants

I think Mr. Grumpy Pants is a silly, but effective name for the monster. Why?
1. It's neutral. It doesn't imply it's any particular type of animal, past monster, or even if it's alien or terrestrial. If you allow for the variance of Mrs. it can even be gender correct.
2. It's polite. Although Big Motherf****r would express it's size and demeanor pretty well, that kind of language is not for everyone. There are probably going to be toys of this creature, and I wouldn't feel too good if the neighborhood kids were screaming "I'm Big M-fer" or asking the mall Santa for one for Christmas next winter.
3. It's fun.

I usually just call it Clover, I too was never a big fan of the MGP nickname but at the same time I respect it for the creativeness. Although I used to lurk on a lot of Firefly message boards, so my tolerance for crazy nicknames has probably increased dramatically because of that.

I know the cast and crew have said they refered to the monster as "Clover".
What's worse?
Mr. Grumpy Pants, or Clover? Neither of them really... strikes fear in my heart.
But just calling the Big Guy "Monster" just seems so informal, and rude. He's our good friend, known him for 6 months now. He should have a name!
