[News] Story on Fox News (Neil Cavuto) [News]

There was a woman on NBC (Now found out to be FOX NEWS) talking about how cloverfield is a reference to 9-11, advising no one to go see.

I dont see what she was going at?
A monster attacking new york? Like that hasnt happened before.

Heres the clip:

We've been lucky it's been so restrained so close to the film's release.

Xius, she's talking about the admittedly obvious references/similarities (intentional or otherwise) to September 11th, through the destruction of a well known land-mark, the collapse of a large skyscraper in New York, people running from a cloud of dust kicked up by a building collapse, people hiding in a store from the cloud of dust, people getting covered in the dust and big explosions going off in New York.

Now, I agree that there shouldn't be senseless exploitation over September 11th... but that woman's attack is unwarrented... it's been seven years since the terrorist attacks and if we can't have movies that might unintentionally reference the attacks then that's stopping the production on a fairly wide range of movie themes.

She's had her five minutes of fame, so we shouldn't pay the crazy woman any more attention.

Kraker, that'd be fun. Smile

Talking heads only get to come back if they get peoples' attention. Some do it based on the strength of their commentary, most do it by simply being loud or inflammatory. Witness Anne Coulter.

Why can't we just have a fun monster movie...why does EVERYTHING have to have political significance. 'News' channels just run these stories for promotional gain anyway.

As someone on a different forum said;

"Godzilla was released only 9 years after Hiroshima, and look how big he's become"

People shouldn't worry

I would hardly call the Today show "News".

Is she basing her opinion on the trailers and tv spots or has this very lucky woman actually see the full movie?
