Well could be alien but not mutated or made. I think the satellite was a red herring by TAG to deflect from the idea they dug it up at Chuai by accident.
Things I don't like....
"Post birth ritual"???? WTF??? What a corny way to describe it.
I hope this isn't baby Godzilla here.
Parasites are fine but dog sized???? Come on...grab yourself a boom stick and go to town! Who the hell is afraid of a dog if you have a gun?
Monster is only seen a "few" times??? Sucks, makes it sound like half of a very short movie is running from dogs.
I like the dog-size idea... Mainly because everyone thought they were gonna be human size. You gotta take into account a few things:
1] they'll be fast, no doubt.
2] crab-like: they could have a had outer shell that protects them from 'boom-sticks.'
Also, If we only see 'Big Bad' a few times- remember- there's gonna be a toy... So we'll see all the 'Big Bad' we want.
I think it will be more of a model then a toy.

I actually sort of feel sorry for MGP now. It reminds me of my Grandmother going to a skatepark or something.
It kinda makes him a tad cutesy now...
like "awww here comes Clover...to fuck us up."

dang. Why'd they have to make it a baby?
I want a mean monster that eats people
and stomps the shit out of the city.
I don't want this to feel all Dragon Tales.

Well if it's any consolation this "baby" will be biting heads off of people like they're cheap plastic pez despensers. According to that review anyway.
I'll feel bad for him if violin music chimes in and a hot air ballon sized tear takes out a neighborhood...but I want him to kick everything's ass now. He's the real hero of the movie. Live to terrorize another day!

A parallel love story is also going on and is reflected in the cuts/edits. This will play an important role in the seven hour gap spread across the movie's length. (Little over an hour right?)
That sums it up for me.
WOW, that is pretty acturate.... huh.... (not sarcasm. i promise, i realize it comes off that way a little but its not.)

Somehow I understood that.
Yes, he'll fuck shit up. Without a doubt.
But, it sounds like its by accident and he's not pissed until he's being attacked.
Before I thought he was just a bad mofo ready to mess shit up...
I don't know, it just changes the way I look at the monster now,
because now I know the ones causing the real damage are its
parasites.
It's like when King Kong gets shot at the end....it annoyed me.
>_>

Image reference? It's all in the details (none are in the heading) Perhaps this:
Is a type of inspiration for the above-mentioned details of the monster.
trying to be sensitive for everyone.

Let me get this straight...So, Cloverfield is not an extension of LOST, but is an extension of that bizarre, terrible show that was on a couple of seasons/years ago (Surface) in which terrible sea monsters that were hidden until a catastrophic somehting let them out to wreak confused havoc on the coastline??? SUCKS!!!!!!

At this point...I don't give a shit about the monster.
The already short movie is intercut with a bunch of crap flashback scenes with Rob and Beth?!
My interest in this movie has just dropped about 90%.
Yuck!
