I rather liked the first 30 minutes, it actually added some bone to the story.

You're pretty close to the overall design of the monster there. The arms are still off though, If you've ever seen a bat walk on all fours, then you will have a really really good idea how the arms should be shaped. And if you haven't seen a bat walk b4, here you go:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1438723069100922755&q=bat+walking&total=455&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=9\

the bat's arms are almost the exactly the same as the monsters front arms. the front arms of the monster are incredibly long compared to the rest of the body.

EDIT: imagine the bats arms, but bend them the other way, like knees.

you got the fingers right. the head is actually pretty close from wat i remember also. The breathing sacks are right around where you would believe the ears are. the face kinda reminded me of a rancor from star wars, but not quite. definitely more bulldog than rancor, with a slightly humanoid look to the head overall. The feet were smaller on the monster, at least it had a smaller footprint. the feet in the drawing are to kangaroo-like to be right.

looking at it again, the face of your monster is actually very close. the yes seem ok, and the style of the mouth kinda fits, even though i do remember the monster having more of a 'predator' type mouth when its open all the way. the nose looks right also, btw.

I asked on another thread but with no answer from anyone who had seen the movie. Is there any nudity in the "love scene?"

Erm...the arms weren't really up on his neck like that.

And longer, yes. They were unusually long.
