I think it was the "looks like rancor, just with more of a bulldog look to it..." that's how I imagine rancor with a bulldog look to it.

Does the giant monster have a power...like fire balls?

rancorish enough? or too much?

:::: you know, i really have had enough of this lol...i'm doing all these sketches while working late, trying to stop the boredom, but now this is pushing me! i think we all roughly know what the thing looks like, its only cosmetics now, but we all kinda know the sillhoutte or outline of the darn beast. i'm calling it quits now, i think i'll just wait for the film and get on with some work!::::

lol...that's probably a bit too rancorish...

It's a nice drawing though!

Yeah man, you don't have to spend your time doing that. We DO have a pretty good outline of what it will look like....it's just the details that are missing now. We'll find out very soon...so.

what the crap im go to Chicago for two days and someone steals my name Cursing

oh yeah i wish the face was different it doesnt look that cool, hopwfully thats not what the monster looks like.

yeah I know it sucks, i drew it in like 3 minutes, just from reading the descriptions, it should be close tho.

blee947-----I have used this screen name for everything since 1999.....got it from Tom Green. He was at a Bingo game calling out numbers........he said blee blee 947 for one and all the old people playing got upset.

sweet my name is supposed to be bruce lee but shortened.

anyways i was talking more about the people who designed the monster for the movie. I think they could have done alot better job, meaning something with a little more pizazz.

It's possible they may have been under orders to keep it a little less showy. After all, the movie doesn't revolve around the monster. It's about Rob and friends and how they deal with the monster.

I'm just glad they didn't go Blair Witch and not give us a monster at all. They could have even only given us fleeting glimpses. That we got enough to put this thread together is pretty cool.

Oh, and props to all you budding artists out there. I can't wait 'til Friday to see how close you guys actually got.

Both jonestown's and boyonfire's renditions are incredibly awesome looking. At first, the monster really kinda looked like crap to me from people's original drawings based on the descriptions, but than jonestown and boyonfire began tossing these out, and they just get better and better, and my prospects for this monster are now so much higher. I still wish that unbelievably old giant whale concept was the monster but we can't linger on things that won't happen, so it's time to move on and accept these new awesome concepts as MGP.

Personally, I think we've hit it on the spot, and it'll look much like what we have. Face and everything. MGP pwns Godzilla anyday at this rate.

Aw, I was hoping for detailed sketches of skin texture too (I imagine warty scales Wink - and barnacles, gotta be a couple of barnacles too!) Seriously there's been some really impressive fan art the whole way through this, I'm with JimiJons Smile
