I have some more bad news to report. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I went home to tend to my mother who was suffering from pneumonia. She succumbed to it a month ago Tuesday. I stayed at home to help my father with his grief and to get the arrangements taken care of. As I watched my lost father wander from room to room it made me ask myself is it better to know someone is gone forever or to wait with the unknowing. While I was helping my father it was so easy to pretend that Jake had stayed home. To think of him working long hours and missing me too. I contacted my neighbors a few times to see if Jake had returned and they said they had seen a unfamiliar car in my driveway but couldn't see the person driving it.

Thank you all for your emails and support. I was unable to check my email while tending to my father. And I had really hoped that one of you had some information waiting for me. Don't get me wrong your prayers and support mean the world to me and make me feel less alone. But hearing about Jake is of course my ultimate goal. I do have one new piece of information, I received a letter on CIA Letterhead yesterday. I'm sure you can imagine my excitement upon receiving it. I thought it had to be information I'd been dying for. The only thing on the letter was a hand written "29" what does that mean? Case #29? I hope one of you can help me.

If you Jake are reading this from somewhere, know that I love you and I have not given up hope finding you. And I hope will be together again soon.

Possibly a solitaire encryption scheme? :

Passphrase: the long string above
Message: eeeee

Encrypting the message gives you: heodo
Decrypting the message gives you: beufu

Tried using it in URLs at CFRG and NRU, but nothing doing so far...

Perhaps there's a Deep Throat/X at the CIA who's giving her hints as to what happened to Jake.

 		I don't know how this was encrypted, so whether this will be useful or not I do not know, but I made letter distribution lists for the encrypted code:

I NEED YOUR HELP TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE MAKE IMMEDIATE CONTACT AT CARETAKER AT BLACKVAULTDOTCOM

It is a Vigenere cipher. The key is 'BGAHB'

Ok. Using the program available here I managed to crack it. The key length I guessed was 5. The first four letters were cracked automatically, but I had to use trial-and-error on the last one.

Email is already away.
