Ten cars in ten days what a rip-off.

I saw the video for this yesterday at the grocery store. I must say that it is pretty strange to have the screen go to static, followed by this playing while emptying your cart in the checkout lane. Laughing

What annoyed me about this is how it went straight from 'Weird mysterious video' to 'Buy are product' in one single move. There was no journey to it. I don't mind being sold something just as long as I enjoy the ride before hand and this didn't have one.

The item for "When do you plan to purchase" has an option for "More than one year" and I'm guessing that's what they'd want you to select. I guess in their minds, everyone will buy or lease a car at *some* point in their lives, or they're not worth bothering with. Razz

I was more annoyed by their other nosy questions. They have far too many things required. They require two different phone numbers as well as your email -- surely one of those would be enough to contact you if you win. They also require you to pick a "title" which will of course tell them your marital status, but only if you're a woman; no option for any other titles, not even Dr., which are gender-neutral. I think "none" should be a valid option there. Just a pet peeve.

I agree, if they're going to try to lure people in with intriguing commercials, they should at least give us some sort of payoff!

In protest I've vowed never to buy a GM car, which since I don't drive and live in the UK (they don't sell them here) is a little redundant. Oh well.

I understand where you're comming from but my initial thought was, I'm trying to win a car, not purchase, so why even ask that question at all. Does not being in the market for a car disqualify me from the contest? Does it lower my chances of winning?

Uh, yes they do sell GM cars in the UK.

(Vauxhall tries to play down it's GM ownership, but it's true.)

(Similar story with Saab.)
As long as you stick to the not driving part though, your protest is safe.

No, my calls were salesmen from local dealerships. I put down I would like info on cadallic. They called to see if I had any questions. That's all.

Edited: What is with the memory card game? Are there entries for that too?

That's too bad about the call from the dealer - I guess they are qualifying people like my buddies friend over the phone too. I hope I get a call!
It may be a lame contest but what is GM supposed to do, nothing?

Come on somebody actually won a car and in the end this forum is about games - somebody won the game and the ads say they are still giving the cars away so the game is still on... I'm hoping I could win...

The point I think many are getting at is this isn't a game; it's a contest (and a website for phishing information about people).

I Won!

I won, I won, I won!
This morning - don't know what the prize is yet. Will go tonight with the code to find out! Wish me luck. The prize can be anything from 2 movie tickets and itunes to a car and everything in between ($10,000.00 worth of furniture, rolex, jewlrey, ipods, dinners etc.).

Edited: I think I won the lowest prize - $10.00 of itunes. Oh well, I'll take it. Everyone keep trying though - there are 6 more days left and lots of prizes to give away.

Congratulations Palm on your win

With my luck, I probably won free music too....

Apparently you have to go to a GM dealership with your winning code to find out what you won... Wish me luck Surprised

Good luck! Maybe all the itunes are gone by now. Yes, you have to go to your nearest GM dealership, they will put the code into a computer and it will tell you the prize. My dealership was very nice about it. The Itunes card will come in the mail. Here is hoping you get a Rolex something like that.
