see it next

"See it next" is a gimmick ad for the Chicago Auto Show and General Motors. They did the same type of ad last year called "who stole the show?" where they had different "mystery" commercials. The symbol used in the ad is most likely for a new truck or car being shown at the Auto Show. It's not a movie, it's not a game...it's just lame advertising.

Look in the top left at the GM next Symbol. It's the arrows.

That is no proof whatsoever. The '>>' symbol means 'fast forward', so anything with a 'next' or 'future' element has the possibility of using it.

The lady mentions that the future is revealed in the general's north building (or chamber something like that). This would make sense because the Chicago Auto Show is held in McCormick Place, and McCormick was a general. Also, during the auto show, GM occupies the north wing of the convention center. Also if you visit the GM site, at the top left hand corner there is the same symbol.

People in here already covered that, he was a Colonel (I think it was), general is a frequent mistake.

So? GM 'Next', using the 'fast-forward'/'next' symbol? At least a 50/50 chance that it's a coincidence, or rather, not, because it's a symbol that means 'next'/'future'/'forward'.

SEEItNext

Like I said yesterday, if it is GM, it is something big.. Some kind of game, or prize thing would be fine if we can play. Now if they are giving away buttons, I am p.o.'d!

It has to be something about GM.

Also, the commercials were clearly shot in Chicago. The next auto show is going to be in Chicago.

Coincidence?

And, the ad says the future will be revealed on February 4 or 5 something like that, around the same time the auto show starts

Way I hear it, auto show starts the 8th. 4 days off from the 'future revealed' of the seeitnext campaign.

Not saying it can't be GM, just that the timing's off and the symbol's too common to say 'oh look, they both use that symbol, must be connected'.

Unless a pm is purposely using the GM "next" gimmick to throw people off, all of the clues add up to the car show with a launch of some kind happening before the actual show.

I know that Future Shop in Canada has been using that >> symbol for YEARS. (Future = fastforwards...). I'm not trying to say that Future Shop is involved (in fact, i really doubt it), just pointing out that the >> symbol has been used all over the place...

This wouldn't be the first time that GM has done some viral marketing, Heck, they did a full blown ARG, "Who Is Benjamin Stove?"

So what if it is for a car... maybe there IS a game to be played. Plus with a whois out of state, this thing could be big.

Speaking as a resident of Michigan, there are many, many buisnesses that do work between Michigan and Chicago...

Personally, it looks like the signs are pointing towards GM, but you never know... And there still is the issue of why she looks freaked out...

Well, less then a week to go till we find out!

Despite all the clues pointing at GM, despite the fact that it really really looks like GM is behind this....

I'm starting to wonder.

Why the heck is that woman freaked out? whats with the kid with the red arrows?

I'm hoping that GM turns this into an ARG, it has potential. (even if we know throughout the ARG that GM is behind it, it could still be awesome!)

I just don't get it. Everything poits towards GM but the video is just so diffrent in tone to eveything else there doing. The websites all 'Hey look at the future, its gonna be great' but the video seems to imply whatevers coming is something terrible.

Well were going to find out what its all about anyday now.

Humans often fear the unknown.

Notice the GMnext.com site uses a Chicago skyline for it's background?
Not what you'd expect for a Detroit automaker.
There's also a place to sign up for free passes to the Chicago Auto Show.
