What points to the fact that this may be an advertisement is that the videos are much clearer then what a normal camera could provide.

Well, even if it isn't a GM add, most ARGs are advertisements for something.

3 more days to go!

 It's not the first time..
GM did promos before

http://searchchicago.suntimes.com/autos/autoshow/245795,as07_JCgmshow.article

Tere is a link to an old article about GM doing the ARG looking commercials before. And to view the commercials, go here

http://www.youtube.com/user/WhoStoleTheShow24.

I understand the fast forward symbols are used for many things, but for GMnext to use it also, and have the Chicago buildings on their website, along with the same kind of commercials to get attention in the past, doesn't seem so far fetched for it to all be connected now.

There was a new commercial for SeeItNext, where the main girl character is in the car with a man. They are apparently trying to follow the symbol, and she makes a reference to it being "a solution to a problem" or something along those lines, which further brings me to believe that it is for the GMnext eco friendly ideas.

By the way, SeeItNext is also being advertised by the mystery company on the radio. I heard it tonight.

Anyone know where a body can see the (two?) new ones, if they don't have the appropriate TV channels (or don't seem to be able to watch said channels at appropriate times, possibly)? Only the first two are on YouTube.

 Recent speculations
Maybe this will help

I am still able to view the WhoStoleTheShow videos by simply going to YouTube and typing "WhoStoleTheShow" into the search box.

I wouldn't doubt they are reading this forum, because when you do a Google search for "SeeItNext" like many people have been doing lately the longer this goes on, you will either come across speculation web sites from people who sometimes sound like they borrowed our words right off the forum, or someone will link this forum into theirs and tell members to come here and read what we have already been working on. No offense to people who have come up with answers on their own at other forums. If I could, I would give credit where it's due.

As for viewing the commercials, I'm not sure where you can go to see it. I can just say from experience that I commonly see them during big NBC shows (Deal or No Deal) on local channel 5. I might have seen one or two during episodes of Law and Order on NBC5 also. The times to watch for the commercials on NBC ranges from 5pm-8pm. I saw one on channel 26, a Fox 24 hour news channel. The one from the radio didn't tell much, but it was either on 96.3, (B96) or 103.5 (KISSFM). Again, as far as I can tell, the broadcasting is only local to Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Some people claimed to have seen a man on a bridge with a >> sign. I'm not sure if they have seen this in real life or not, but that is a clip from recent commercials. There is a man holding a white sign with big, black >> symbols. He seems slumped down a bit, leaning on a divider that separates people in long lines, such as amusement park rides. It's a quick scene, but it shows he might actually be in a line with people waiting outside in the cold (My guess is still on waiting in line for the Auto Show/GM connection).

As for the "freaky kid picture", I can only speculate and stretch a bit here. There are barnyard stacks of hay around the child, which in thinking with GMNext could possibly be a (subtle) attempt to show natural resources. If you take "The secret is in the symbol" literally, one might come to the conclusion that the right shoulder of the child has a red, white, and blue colored overall strap inside one of the symbols it's "holding." Perhaps it symbolizes America, and how we should be "cleaning up our act" when it comes to burning fuels with cars and all the "going green" statements. But I'm just grasping at straws here (lame pun intended). Wink

I could be wrong about the GMNext connection, but until proven otherwise, I'm convinced that's what it is.

Guess they didn't want to wait
until the 4th to tell us.

This was in my e-mail.

Hey, it's me Sarah... I just found out what those symbols we've all been seeing are really about and it's big, really big. It's this thing called GMNext and I found out?General Motors?is giving away 10 cars in 10 days at the Chicago Auto Show and we're some of the only ones who know! I also found out you could win other great prizes like dream vacations, furniture from Walter E Smithe, jewelry, gift cards and more...

So here's how you can win... Just log onto SeeItNext.com and enter for your chance to win. Get there before everyone else finds out how cool this is. You can also head over to the Auto Show February 8th through the 17th and check out GMNext in the North Hall of McCormick Place. There's going to be a lot going on there.

Ok, I was pretty scared, but this thing is big. Remember, you gotta play to win so log onto SeeItNext.com for your chance to win and be sure to visit GMNext in the North Hall at McCormick Place... or should I say the general's north chamber!

So in the end it was all just about a car show. So what the hell was the freaky photo of the girl all about?

Site stopped working properly one or two days ago, and yes, it's now completely blank, including the source code. It's pretty much been all but officially debunked as a hype promotion for the Chevy Traverse.

Got the email. Went to the registration page. The question on the page that struck me as odd was, "When do you plan to purchase?" Who said I was even in the market? I didn't care for this ad campaign at all. If I wanted to be bothered by a salesman I'd go to a dealership.

Also got the email. And I must say, people, you are great! In the second page of this thread was already the correct assumption.

e-mail

well, I finally got the e-mail; took awhile.

I can use a new car so figured I might as well enter. Reading the rules, it appears we can enter once a day - at each of their sites (8 auto sites) and the online game. I searched for the other 8 links and cannot find them. If anyone comes across them, hoping they can share the link here.
