German Cloverfield DVD

Hi people,

German DVD is out and I am freakingly glad about it Smile
It has "Clover Fun" in it, and some cool things. But astonishingly it hasn't neither Cloverfield trailer, nor teaser. Was it also absent in the US dvds?

I'm glad that all the easter eggs and hidden functions are also in German DVD.

Also chapter 17 (which was the major requirement for me to buy it Smile)

But what about that files: not every UGSX-file works. Was it also in US versions? (You can also trout me, if you want, I missed this on this board since months Smile)

Btw, here is my review of DVD (sorry, only in German)

UPDATE. I compared the German DVD to the review of Dennis

and there are some differencies:

- there is understandably no previews for Star Trek and Indiana Jones
- the sticker number is DE113764SK2 (DE for Germany)
- and: according to Dennis, there were
Quote:
four of the Jamie and Teddy videos (#2, 5, 9, & 11)

Now in German version there are all videos of Jamie . OK, they are listed, but only 4 are accessible though.

I'd love to watch Cloverfield in German.

Why'd it take so long to get over there?

Good question!
The movie start was at January 31. So I thought, die DVD could come out end april... It was kinda long waiting (and fortunately not for Godot Wink )

But are the other supplement files really unaccessible? It makes me nervous. Smile

UPDATE. Btw, here is German trailer, you can make an impression about German version:

YouTube: Link

Well, the party scene was in German not really dynamic. I mean, if in English they say: "Sur-prise!", in German they say: "Ü-ber-rasch-ung!"

And after all, what does mean the number DE113764SK2 ?
I mean, in US edition the number on this sticker was the password to http://www.usgx8810b467233px.com/

Is there perhaps another site for German version? And for all another foreign DVD releases, so we could perhaps get all the hidden pieces together?... (Just an idea)

Well, it isn't _us_, these are all that translation studios in Germany... They really kill every authenticity, which is so important for the movie. And sometimes they even kill the movies with new "funny" title (which is English originally).

That's why I always try to watch the movies in original, on DVDs or in cinema.

In France and Japan there is better movie translation alternative - subtitles. Well, subtitles in an action movie could also damage the dynamic, but the voices are really lame, you're right...
