Horned can you tell me what program you used to make that... and give me a lilttle lesson on it? I would really appreciate it.

Anyway, if you could just tell me the program you used lol.

I just used good 'ol Adobe Photoshop. You can do a search for Photoshop tutorials to simulate night vision technology in Google. Smile

The military was probably tracking this thing and was trying to stop it. They unleashed everything they had, short of going nuclear. They didn't just fire one or two things from a couple of planes OR boats. But fired multiple rounds of various types of weapons from a whole bunch of boats AND planes.

See, this is where I get confused. Initially, I thought this might be the case as well - but that doesn't really make sense. If the armed forces threw everything they had at this beastie before it made landfall, why wouldn't they nuke it (or at least use some bigger guns on it) before it got to New York? And if they knew they couldn't effectively tackle the thing with conventional weapons, why bother fighting it once it reaches New York? It seems the reasonable thing to do, once you discover that you can't stop the thing, is get the hell out of its way.

So, yeah. I'm not real sure what to think of this picture.

Edit:
Though, I suppose the military could be attempting to keep it busy while they try to facilitate an evacuation of New York. Seems like they dropped the ball, though.

But, then, what else is new?

Well after looking at them some more I can definetly see some claw marks on the blurred image sunken ship pic.

MGP/Clover did indeed sink our battleship.

Another mistake they made (though its probably not as importent as the ships) is that, the black boxes are tinted green.

If it was taken in night vision and later edited, wouldn't the boxes be straight black?

This must be after the initial attack on NYC. An all out air/sea attack of this size would make a racket in the harbor, which is close by the location of the party that our heroes are at. When they go up on the roof to see if they can see a tanker on fire, wouldnt they hear and see this battle? Also, the news copters would have reported this when they showed the burning tanker..

It makes more sense that the military who by now have had time to respond and deploy to the attack on NYC follow MGP back into the water with everything they have!

I agree, what we are seeing is after the events of the movie.

Suspending reality for a moment here, but if there was that much activity off the US atlantic coast, everyone in the country would have heard about it.

As far as analysis of the pics, the night shot is a composite picture meant to represent the military using everything they had against MGP. Boats, planes, probably subs, etc.

The morning shot is meant to let us know that MGP is still alive and kicking even after said onslaught the night before. Nice claw marks on the side of that cruiser, btw.

Most reasonable explanation - that there will be a sequel and it will be the type of movie we all expect, i.e. the general giving order, the president saying to just take it out, the mayor of New York lamenting the loss of the greatest city in the world, and of course the big-name actor portraying a hot-shot jet pilot or a submarine captain chasing after MGP as he tries to escape. You could even get foreign actors to represent France, Spain, England, etc, as those countries enter into the line of fire. Might be worth watching... Cool

Maby the explosion in the middle of new york was a last ditch effort to drive away MGP, you never know, government coverups always make good stories. Wink

This must be a picture of Jamie's Hotness.

MGP is Jamie's Hotness.

The bad DSI she took combined with her infection and she became MGP.

I mean look at that fire.....that is Hotness!

A blast that size would not just blow up MGP but it would destroy any ships/planes/structures anywhere near it.

Maybe we're doing a bad job

My only thought on the pic being a rush job is that maybe the game runners are trying to help us out due to a lack of progress on our behalf.

I remember reading for the YearZero ARG they were often surprised when fans didn't find stuff and had to find quick ways to clue them in.

IF this is the case, we are definitely missing something out there, either a video or a new site or something.

This is a FAKE done by me of course...

I'd guess they can't use copyrighted content like you may have done (Paramount is a major studio of course). If so, it's a lot harder comp that together.

Either way, nice work on that pic!

I'm not so sure about this. Remember, Tag kept the sinking of the Chuai station quiet for ten days, so the US government could easily keep a 'naval and air force response practice' quiet for a good several days - at least, until tomorrow (1-17-08, baby). I think this is some way off the southeast coast of New York state, probably.

And as for the whole 'why didn't they just go nuclear' thing - the army probably figured they'd slowed down MGP or weakened him or something, enough so that they could catch up with him and lay the final smackdown wherever he went next - in this case, Manhattan. The fact that MGP appears to be running away quite quickly from the firing of the army in the big original trailer seems to suggest that perhaps MGP is scared of the military after this last encounter, and that if they equaled what they did last time, he realises he may be screwed.

And finally - can everyone PLEASE stop bitching about the quality? This is a decidedly low-budget film, and JJ has no obligation to provide photorealistic quality photos to a bunch of geeks who spend their days tracking his viral campaign (yes, I count myself among those geeks). I'm just getting sick of everyone whining because JJ's marketing team aren't putting in the effort they'd like, rather than just getting the message across. First it was the Chuai station video, now the 'smoke cloning' and this - GET THE HELL OVER IT.
