While the pic seems too cobbled together to really take too seriously, do you think the two post-like shapes on either side of the explosion depict another drilling rig being destroyed?

I totally disagree. There's no way that site would post a "post-picture" before the movie even comes out for the general public.

And you will under stand why....

I don't think the photos are 'case designate' stuff... wouldn't that have been mentioned somewhere? I mean, this was the first site we saw
before anything else. Notice how they collected pictures over time? If all this stuff was a part of the Case Designate, the why weren't the pictures there to begin with? No, the pictures are pouring in as time progresses [that's the biggest hint right there]. So, to me- it's all pre-desolation. Why would they nuke a monster, then do lesser stuff after that? All that stuff you see in the picture doesn't amount up to an actual Nuke. After a Nuke- they would take a biological offense to it... Not just more explosions.

No Friend boyonfire,

Check it.
The whole viral is to help guide us to other destinations...The pictures, on some circumstances have led us on the viral but mostly....they are a history, or "file representation" of what we already know...YES? The Trailers and commercials...are a representation of what we already know...
What do you think?

except when the teaser first hit, and the 01-18-08 site came out, and the pictures started rolling in- we didn't know the military would be involved until those pictures came out. We didn't know anything about the chef or the 'Bottom Rock Crab' or the Seabed's Nectar... The pictures are both showing us what we already know and they're leading us through this. They're pacing us.

Of course they weren't putting pics that show anything on the site early. The cats pretty much out of the bag now, they can put up just about anything they want now, except for a pic of the critter, and I bet that's coming!

There is no way that last pic, or the one before it is pre-attack. You tell me that if what amounts to a major naval engagement was going on off the coast of the U.S. that somebody wouldn't be all over it. It's at night, too. How many private boats, cargo, fishing, ect, would be in visual range of that? Everybody in New York wouldn't be just hanging out and having a party if that was going on out in the ocean. Not these days, when everyone is expecting a terrorist attack, or another war any day now.

and most times- you'd be right about that... but with that same argument and completely basing this off of realism: You don't think we wouldn't have found out about this monster by now? I mean, We're a generation of nosy people and we have the means to be as nosy as we want to be. Private enterprises, media, we would have learned about this thing long ago. Also, again- if they nuked it [which they should have if all else fails and the movie leads us to believe they did by how it sounds] then why attack it w/ lesser firearms afterwards?

but it's fictional.

and once again, I believe 01-18-08 is just leading fans through the time line. How did we find out about Tagruato? 01-18-08. How did we find out about Slusho? 01-18-08. To be a case designate, adding up the evidence- they wouldn't blur out the images. To be a viral- they would blur out the images and not show the monster at all, or after the final movie release- which is sometime in February... I think. But you can't be both a case designate collecting evidence and a viral made to promote the VMC and the movie because in many ways they would contradict itself.

"But what if "We" didn't have to find out?" What if we "the public" were being 'fed' the info? From an outside source?

Here are some things I think after reading several pages:

I think the picture was taken BEFORE the NY attack, for the simple fact I don't think they would show us something after the attack before the movie.

The fight is taking place where, when??? The oil rig was in the middle of the Atlantic, about 2-3 days straight to NY. Who says MGP went straight to NY, who knows when this was taken.

When they attacked MGP in the Atlantic it could have been a thousand miles out, no one would have seen it.

They are attacking MGP while it is in the water. IMHO I would not be surprised if half the weapons missed MGP totally, 0% damage. Most of his body is probably under water. The water will disperse a lot of firepower quickly. If I remember correctly the general rule is, the bigger the ammo the quicker it stops the ammo. For some of that we are talking a few feet!

Just because they fired on him with everything in the water, does NOT mean he can not be hurt on the ground. You are talking about hitting him from a different angle, from underneath to from on top. Big difference!!

Each branch of the military has different types of weapons that do different types of damage to different things. Just because one branch does not have the angle or firepower to kill the thing does not mean that all branches will have the same effect. In other words a simple anti-tank missile fired in the right spot will do way more damage than a MOAB.

I don't think nucs were used, they figured they could take him out with normal weapons.

No ideal where he will hit land, how do yo evac half the east coast!! To WHERE?
