Oh...you (nofx1978) were booing when the movie was over. Ok...so you waited till the very end to be an Ass. Got it.

And I will accept you jab at teachers with a grain of salt. You see, it is a hackneyed phrase used all too often by people who have some sort of preconceived notion that teachers are not capable of "doing." Thusly, they teach. In your case I am guessing that you feel negatively towards teachers because you did not like some of the teachers you had in school. Well, it's not their fault. It can be quite a challenge to teach spastic malcontents with mental deficiencies and poor vocabularies.

He he he...this is fun. I like poking fun at you. It's so easy!

Wrong again, I love teachers. My mother is going on 33 years in Duval County. Just not the life for me. You couldn't possibly be more wrong about me. I call a truce. I was wrong for booing. I admit. My emotions got the best of me. I just felt very vested in this film/ARG, and felt, well let down. I think you are a good person Regan, and really do hope you like the film. I will see it again, and perhaps get more out of it.

OK, Reeves said it would be obvious where the title came from. So, is it obvious?

Truce accepted. I know when I got a guy on the ropes. Very Happy

Seriously though, I am sorry you did not like the movie. Here is my deal. I am a huge fan of B horror flicks and bad sci-fi. One of my all time favorite movies is "It Came From Outer Space." I just love shlock!

My expectations for the movie are low. I have to approach a lot of movies that way. If I am entertained...fine. I hope there were elements of you movie that you liked. If not...ok then...it's just a movie. If Cloverfield is at least as good as "It Came From Outer Space," then cool. I will be happy.

Hey, now, watch the ropes, I am no Rocky Balboa. But I know what you mean about "B" movies. My favorite movie ever is "Halloween". It was so brillant because of what they "didn't" show. I just did not get that feeling out of this film. Like I said, don't get me wrong, I truly "was" entertained, but, just, like pissed off dissapointed. Maybe I really would have liked a guy in a rubber suit stomping on models, with people screaming "Godzirra".

I just re-read the production notes, and what these reviews sound exactly like what he described:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"There's something very scary about what you can't see," adds Reeves. "You're in there with Hud, and there's no reverse angle showing you what he's not seeing. They don't have any more information than you do. Every moment becomes charged, because you know that, just off-frame, there might be something horrible happening. But you don't know what it is, because he hasn't turned the camera there yet. It becomes all about what your mind fills in."

I've followed this for months, but figured it was just another monster film; it wasn't until after I read Reeves's description that I actually got interested in seeing it. To each their own, I guess.

I agree here. I like the idea that I don't get to see it completely and my imagination gets me. Good times. Sounds like there will be lots of other material to do the explaining for us. Get over it.

Starship, I truly got no idea why he would think that. Perhaps, this is jsut the start of this whole movie "franchise", but the only time Cloverfield was mentioned, was the beginning, and the end.

So the guy in the review I posted a link to says it looks like Pumpkinhead and Predator produced a drunken love child. Doesn't sound a lot like the fan-pics by the others who said they saw it, and said the monster is shown plenty.

In one of my early descriptions, I specifically said that the monster had a Predator mouth....I have never seen pumpkinhead before so of course i wouldnt mention it.

I've been lurking on here for a while, reading up on the design and early reviews. While I've been a bit concerned with what's been posted, you have no idea how excited I am to see this.

Especially after reading this thread. Stuff posted in here has really got me reassured and more and more interested.
I think this'll be right up my alley.

I can't frickin' wait.

I'm gonna say this again for anyone who HASN'T seen the movie:

KEEP AN OPEN MIND

or this is gonna be your response to the movie... Learn to make yourself easily entertained and remember- this ARG/ARE/VMC was meant to keep us interested in the movie and nothing more. Above all, not EVERYONE'S gonna have the same perspective about the movie. We each have our likes and dislikes and they're all probably gonna be different.

Don't worry, I've never watched any King Kong movies or Godzilla's, cept Godzilla 2000 which sucked ass.

Hey everyone. Nofx, take some time off and cool down. Maybe go to sleep, if it's that time over there. I just have to say this:

1. Uh-oh. No money shot? Or is there? Here's the deal. My cousin, who went to see the movie, told me that they don't present the big guy like a fasion model. No posing there. He was a little pissed at Hud for not aiming at Junior GrumpyLost (It's a lost, angry, provoked infant, accorfing to production notes), but he loved the Rob+Beth scenes. Adds more realism and backstory to the movie, ye know?

2. He uses my UF account sometimes, and looked for the 'big' splash in the water. Said he only half saw it, but it was definetly not shown in a way that it's obvious. Also would kill the "thousands of years" theory if it's and alien.

3. Nofx, guess what. In order to calm your anger, J.J. actually made a model (Not a toy- I don't want to see buttons on his back and make cheap roar sounds) of MGP!!! As someone else said, stare at it all day.

4. Gawd, it's more heated here than the Rep and Dem debates! /sarcasm
Regan, congratualations on being a teacher and so forth. Nofx, congrats on you being a Nuke Medic. How old are you? (So others won't call you an immature kid) I'm 19, and I'm in college with a part time job as a pornstar/customer-service guy-for-Verizon.
/sarcasm joke on my first listed job
Cool Down. I hope that they'll show us something good (Movie or not), and that the hours wasted here won't be wasted in vain.

I WANNA FRIGGIN' TOY. If Godzilla is grand enough to have a toy- Cloverfield monster [I hate MGP] should get its own toy... A model isn't as great as a toy in my eyes.

God, I know it'll probably suck and I'm almost saying this as a tongue-and-cheek, but I'm expecting a video game.

Well in all fairness, I don't beieve that this will be the movie to judge. If JJ plans on making a series of these films, another amateur shaky cam will not suffice. He will have to go with full shots like a normal movie imho to keep us interested. If this was created to just give us a taste of things to come then i can accept that, but we can really nail ol JJ to the walll if the sequel doesnt have any good mgp footage.

Im exactly the same way, the less i see the more my mind fills in the blanks, and thats much scarier to me,; one of the reasons i loved Blair Witch, tho seems most people despise it, ill proudly say i loved it. and thats why, cause of what u didnt see
