I think this leads to the military knowing that this was going to happen ahead of time. It looks like on of the Iraq pictures. Those are navy cruisers. Apparently the government tried to prevent it from reaching NY but failed.

BY the way, is it just me or do the two boats on the left seemed to have fired upon the jets and not MGP?

I had to laugh at the picture, there is no way that actually happened. The ships would NOT be firing with the planes flying that low. Also I don't think the ships would have him surrounded, or be that close to him.

The main thing is the military knew about him BEFORE he hit NY.

it seems like the military is totally aware of the monster at this point.

They appear to be bombing ol' MGP somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Does that mean the military is fighting MGP when it reaches NYC? Probably not, otherwise I'm sure there would be an evacuation notice and no one would be throwing any parties.

Then again, 1-18-08.com is OOG anyway

This bombing means they (military? government?) were definitely aware of MGP before it hit NY and were trying to deal with it then. They're bombing the monster right? What else?

they knew for serious...but maybe they were in military exercises when he started to attack...like in the Chuai vid showing the armed guards shooting into the water

The missiles are going up. They are cruise missiles, the launch upwards from the ship.

I'm trying to stay spoiler-free, so this might seem naive, but why couldn't this picture be taken after the attack on New York? If MGP shreds Manhattan, and then heads out to sea, this picture would logically show the continuing military counter-attack on MGP.

The alternative is that this does in fact happen before the attack, but MGP escapes and then turns up in New York harbor. This would explain the long baffling, unusually quick, massive military response in Manhattan.

So this leads me to believe that the explosion at Rob's party is the military.
