Enough with the reviews, we want the MONSTER! Dear God, I hope somebody in nuclear medicine or some other field will post a picture of the monster that they 'supposedly' get to see in this film. All that research and science and no prescence of mind to get a photo of our monster? WTF?

From what I hear, security is really tight at all the screenings. They pat you down, confiscate cellphones/cameras, and watch you the whole time.
Tell me, would you risk going to jail (yes, GOING TO JAIL) to snap a photo of a monster in a movie 2 days before release?
That's what I thought.

Yeah at the screening I went to last night there was a staff of 20 standing at ten foot intervals around the theatre with Night Vision Goggles on... yes you heard me right...Night Vision Goggles! We were told before the movie started that if anyone was caught with a cellphone, camera or any other type of recording device we WOULD be caught and removed from the theatre. dramatic lol So NO I wanted to see the movie and I am not going to risk getting kicked out (possibly fined) just so you can see a pic of the monster 2 days early. seriously, there are prescreenings everywhere. find one and go!

True!, Went to last night screening. Security was very tight!. They tell you in line...all phones off(put in pockets or purses). They tell you inside when you sit down also. They have people around the theatre watchin and up in projector room they had people watchin for it. Think thats why no one has it up yet. Probably come Friday it will ease up as will be out to public then.

Who said WE want someone to post a pic of the Monster? I don't, and I know (because I've actually read the forum) that not EVERYONE does want the movie spoiled for them. Just because you want to see it, doesn't mean everyone here does.
Wanna see the monster? Pony up the money, and go see it on Friday.

Yeah at ours they also had night vision, and expressly said anyone seen using their phone or any kind of LED display would be asked to leave immediately. I got to be honest though, the beast is on screen so briefly in some shots that by the time you get it ready to shoot he'll be off screen. The only exception would be when they are in the air when you get a nice clean view from above (but even then it's pretty dark), and when Hud has his confrontation when its face is very clear.

I'm sure by Friday Morning the latest pics of the monster will hit the Net.
I think even Paramount will change the ads a week or so after the film opens and show the monster in the commercials. The hype will be past and they will use a different tack to sell the movie.

The day after it will be on half the net and every street corner in China.

I find all of this night vision goggles stuff a load of BS, you would think they would have tried that at the IMAx I Am Legend for the people who taped the extra 6 min trailer for The Dark Knight. This seems like an awful lot of trouble for a movie that alot of people not "in the loop" don't even know what it is about. Plus ol Reeves said there were no advance screenings. I still cry bs, i would like to believe it but I just can't.

Believe what you want, I picked up alot of gear at the non existent prescreening though (see this post: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23588 ) And if there wasn't a pre screening then where the hell did I go last night?
I find it hilarious that some of you think that MULTIPLE people who have been part of this forum for a number of months and have posted about numerous other things are collaborating on, what must be, the greatest attempt at a Game Jack fake spoiler in history. I mean get over yourself. The Director of the movie has no say so in whether there are prescreenings or not. That is up to the Producer and Paramount and they probably left him out of the loop. Really though I'll be waiting here with a big steaming plate of Crow for all of you Conspiracy theorists when you get back from watching the movie. That is if you can take your foot out of your mouth long enough to eat it.

I gotta be honest, there was a lot of audible laughter when they mentioned the night vision goggles, and my wife even said "BS, they are just trying to scare people." But they had 4-5 people wandering around the theater the whole night watching the crowd. it was a little creepy, but the movie held my attention enough that I didn't care.
Look at it this way, this monster is one of the most anticipated "surprises" in a movie for some time. I think if I were Paramount they'd want to keep it under wraps for as long as they could yet still build enough hype where people will want to see it. Other preview screenings I've seen didn't have this kind of security, but they were mostly dramas and action films where there is no big "reveal" that would ruin the experience for many people.
Frankly, I'm WAY happy I didn't know what the monster looked like. He's the main reason I wanted to see the movie. If I had known what he looked like, I would have missed the sense of awe that makes the movie so cool... "did you see it? there it is! awesome! woah!" Also, I REALLY hope paramount doesn't put him in the trailers. You only see him 7-8 times, and to have one of those brief glimpses taken away from a view is one less moment of "coolness" IMO.
