beast from 20,000 fathoms...

damn if the connections don't make sence now!

reading what people have written about the monster,
jj saying its been in the sea for thousends of years, manhatten getting crushed, the monsters shape being pretty much the same as the beast - just not as lizardy/more mutated looking... really am super hyped to see this now, i can see how it got greenlit straght away.

totally brilliant idea, go back to the drawing board with the monster movie, before godzilla, before the millions of knock offs!

using the same foundations they used, to modernise the genre, shooting hand held and making the film a love story set against the mayhem is a great idea. giving the film an emotional maturity that those old monster movies seemed to lacke.

also, i cant belive anyone ever thought that the voice said 'it's a lion'
have you seen the poster for 'beast?'

idiot? not really, i've only become emersed in this whole cloverfield world in the last few days, i've never really liked anything abrams has done before, never really got into lost and i have never had any interest in this before hand thats all. but i'm just so amazed that this film got made, never mind all the viral stuff, the meat and bones of it is such a good idea i'm gobsmacked. im just kind of excited and suprised how close it is to 'beast'.

edit: i'd also like to note the rather splendid quote on the poster "a year in the making"

Well try using the cleverly made 'Search' function next time. There are about 400 topics on this.

USE THE SEARCH... I mean, I know within the past week that you've been a part of this you've heard people say it... why not do it?

Look up the plot synopsis for The Beast from 20k fathoms and you'll also find another little treat. Also, you can watch the entire movie on Youtube.

hes moody cause this was brought up like a billion times months ago, and was proven time and again to have no connection or correlation to Cloverfield, and if you had used the search function you would have seen this and not wasted bandwidth by starting a pointless thread about it.

i love the beast flick, one of the first films i ever saw!

i would use the search but really didnt occur to me.

anyway does it really matter, thought it would be nice for people who have seen the film to comment if there are more things that connect them now that theyve seen it. that is providing they've seen both films.

Oh piss off. Is it really that difficult to use the Search function? It's not like you need to decombobulate the infragulator to carrastoble the buttoniser. It's a button up the top with easy functions. Understandably, we're a little pissed, especially with the search button so easy to find. And if the newbie wants to bugger off because he can't handle a few of us at the end of our tether, so be it.

Sorry, I'm also at the end of my tether with this ARG and the seeming influx of trolls we've been getting.
