Well sir, if you were slick you would notice that our friend has reversed the audio and found what the clip really says.

I think the sound can be taken either way.

For an audience who has just watched the movie and perhaps won't hear it reversed, then it'll just be 'Help Us', but for the people who are running around the forums and such, then they'll hear 'It's still alive.' I think it's clever, it could be taken either way. if theres going to be a sequal, then, essentially they mean the same thing - the promise of more.

That said, just as an add on tracheotome, I don't think Rob was saying anything from a cellphone, I think it was on the tape, thus distorted as a result of the bomb etc.

He meant that the person recording the sound in the theatre probably used a cellphone.

And it's impossible to make some message form another one when reversed. If it sounds like 'help us', that's just a coincidence, same goes with any reversed clip of speech that sounds like something also.

Not true; "Another one bites the dust" played backwards is "decide to smoke maruijuana"

What's the point? The reversed file sounds clear enough to be a definite proof of that it says what we all think it says.

I posted without knowing someone had already reversed it. I also had the intention of reversing it. After I posted mine I couldn't edit it because UF was being difficult.

I meant, it's impossible to deliberately record a line, and make it reverse into another one you chose. Yes, it's possible to hear another message from another one when reversed, but that can only be coincidence.

Just like how 'watch' reversed will always be 'hctaw', you can't change what something reverses into. If 'god' backwards is 'dog', that's a coincidence, the people who invented the words didn't plan that.

I understood you; I disagree. There's a good chance that Queen intended to make a song with a reversible phrase.

Granted, when doing so your options will be limited, it will take a lot of fiddling, and it will likely always be a little "off", but I reject the blanket statements that it is impossible, or always unintentional.

Regardless, I doubt that is the case with the phrase from the movie; it is difficult to understand played forwards, but it is crystal clear played backwards.

The moviemakers grew up with all of the backmasking references, the same as the rest of us. Given the other "inside jokes", not to mention the entire viral campaign, I can easily imagine them doing this.

Ah, ok. I didn't realise thats what he meant. My bad.

And when I was talking about the message being taken either way, I meant by the people listening to it. I wasn't referring to anything technical whatsoever, thats not my area. I was referring to the fact that, i expect there will be a number of people who may not be on forums or whatever, thus meaning they will, if they stayed to hear it, just think that it was 'help us' or whatever. Whereas others may have had the chance to hear it reversed and know that it was 'it's still alive.' It's open to interpretation and I still stand by the fact that whatever it says means, whether it be in the ARG or a sequal or whatever, there will be more.
