 		Those lungish things on the monsters head bother me. Not because they look scary, but because they are lame.

I'm serious, if that's the monsters way of breathing, then why not attempt to damage them.

The picture of the exploding girl looks like her stomach is enlarging as if she is pregnant and then it tears apart and something is coming out. Is that a creature/parasite or just her intestines?

From what I saw, it looked like she she 'blew up'. (He stomach). Uh, and right before that theres a guy on a stretcher he his stomach all mangled and exposed as though it blew up. I think the bites expand the gases and cells in your body, more so in the region of your stomach and makes you explode.

There are two symptoms that occured prior to the explosion. First he was bit and appeared to be fine. Then several minutes later claimed she was dizzy and looked some-what pale. Then shortly there after blood started coming out of her tear duct. Then the military knew what these symptoms were, grabbed her right away. VERY shortly after, she exploded.

The problem with answering this questions is that:

We don't actually see the explosion. We see the silouhette of the explosion and see a nice blood spray against the curtain. But it happens while the others (including Hud w/ the camera) are being rushed out of the room. It's very quick and then it's done. If something did, in fact, come out, we have no way of knowing - they just didn't show it and didn't talk about it. As for the other guy's body they saw, it looked very similar to bodies from Aliens after the little alien burst out. True, an internal gas pressure burst of some kind would do that, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility that something came out with it. Like everything else with this film, WE JUST DON'T KNOW.

I would say it would be pretty unreal if something were to produce in such a short period of time. It seems like it may grow over time. But I guess a monster taking out one of the largest cities in the world is pretty unreal too. Ha ha ha. All in all I'd say ins a virus.

before she pops, as they just enter the medical tent... a guy is wheeled by with an exposed chest cavity. Looks almost like the same sort of thing happened to him. Then something is wheeled by that is a dead spider creature. Could be implied both ways: something comes out/the person just pops. My guess is they just pop because the spiderlouse looked "full grown" and would have likely been too big to have come from a human host.

 		Thanks Gwaka and everyone else for your input and insight. More unanswered questions even after seeing the movie? I think that Abrams is setting us up for the next stage!

The clip of the ending credits is interesting. It sounds like a person is saying something. Someone who is in real distress physically, near death. Gwaku can you identify who it is and what they're saying? I listened a few times and can't make it out.
