Life sucks. I just basically got told that unless a job fell in my lap, that my parents were going to cut me off financially (leaving me with no tuition money for next semester), and was the called a waste of talent by my brother. I have a chance to work in the Goodyear plant, but I really don't want to risk injuring my hands, arms, back, or other appendage used for art.

I have no idea what to do. I want to die.

Mourning the death of my hopes and dreams,

7T

The only reason you are letting this get to you is because a small part of you believes their words.

Stop caring about what they think (ref to your brother) and get a part time job somewhere like Walmart or Customer Service...And then you can always apply for Financial Assistance for school.

You are your own person my friend, and you are truely a great guy with tons of talent. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...Believe in yourself and you will make it through anything.

Tubs... I wanted to give you a little message before i have to get to bed. I know that with the economy it's hard to get a good job right now, and I totally hear you on not wanting to mess up your body.

You are in my thoughts and I will pray for ya, guy. Remind yourself of God's grace... He'll pull you through! Something, somewhere, will come up. As for your family, forgive them... It doesn't seem right for them to do that.

Have you thought about freelance work?

Something will come along. Keep your eyes open.

Dude trust me I know! I have applied to like a 40 places already and no one is calling me Neutral
I never had such a big problem applying to jobs. I usually get a job within 2 weeks of applying. Now it's been since end of November.

I guess it is like Mandy said, the economy is really bad right now.. Keep at it hun, you will find a job eventually. Smile

A wise person once said to me "A good story makes you feel something." Well...I don't think I remember that quite right. It sounded better when she said it.

Anyway...a few have left saying that everything going on is too much to handle. We've been through some crazy things, and surely the last 30 hours or so have been the worst.

I don't know what the hell happened, why what's happened happened. I don't know motives or who to trust, what's true what's not. But you know what? The experience matters. Experience is a teacher. The most brutal of teachers, as C.S. Lewis said. "But you learn. My God, do you learn."

This is an experience...and the fact that you don't quite know what's true and what isn't anymore...well that just intensifies the experience. Some may find it unpleasant. It's true, not all experience are pleasant, and this one sure has had it's ups and downs. But we always had each other and we always got through it. And who among us who has been here awhile hasn't learn something about themselves? Who hasn't grown from this?

The best rewards take a bit of sacrifice. This story, this experience, probably isn't for everyone. I can see that. It's for people willing to take the lows as well as the highs. It's for people who want an experience unlike anything else...What we take from it in the end, when we get through it, will be something we will always remember and it will become apart of us, as it already has to some.

Experience and grow.

Dedicated to our dear Trailmaster.

*sways with lighter*

Very much agreed!

That and wasn't C.S. Lewis a bit of a mad hatter himself? =)

Reading all that happened this weekend with the announcement about TM and all the raw emotions that coursed through the pages of the forum here on uF, I think you ALL went through your own version of "48 hours in Purgatory" - until you got confirmation that it's still all IG.

Would that be a fair observation from an outsider?

Yes, Konamouse, I agree with you and am also keeping in mind TM's comment from the recent group chat, "[22:44] <Trailmaster> Do you have what it takes o spend 48 Hours in Purgatory?"
