[Spec][Spoilers] More Than 1 "Mother Monsters"? Those Giant Monsters,
It seemed to be everywhere at once, but, was there infact more than one?
Because as you saw, it was walking across Manhattan, and then somehow ended up under the Brooklyn Bridge?
I know there are small ones,
but are there more than one big ones?

For some reason, after watching the movie for the second time last night, that thought crossed my mind.

I also thought this, but later realized the monster is incredibly fast...
Also sometimes the monster seemed to creep up quietly like it came out of nowhere.

interesting supposition, i've thought the same thing, cause that would be scary. I was wondering if the attack on 1-18-08.com was the army killing the first MGP, and new york was a revenge attack - or stuff along those lines.
And with the whole setup, as if looking back on evidence of the attack, i was wondering if the whole seaboard got attacked, not just NY.

there must be more.

It's painfully obvious that there's more than one creature in the movie. The monster who the stealth jet bombs, who reaches an arm up and pulls it down the side of that building, and then grabs a helicopter that's clearly more than 40 stories in the air? That thing was a whole lot bigger than the one that ate Hud.

Agreed. The one that ate Hud looks almost entirely different than any other shot of the monster through the whole movie. Particularly, the shot of the monster just before they run into the subway. I'm calling shenanigans.

Exactly. There was an almost triangular shape to the face of the monster from the subway, whereas the Hud-Eater was smaller and much more human-like.
Weird.

Agreed. To a 40 story tall monster, Hud would of look like a ant to him.
I believe there alot more to this movie then we know. We have just open the bag.

Word.
Except, if we're expecting another full-length film...we're going to have to wait a long-ass time (a long ass-time?). I don't know if I can do another 6 months! Especially since I have to wait almost a whole year to see Star Trek (the trailer was incredible by the way!).

Hm. Well. I actually like the idea of multiple monsters better than my whole monster fell next to the helicopter idea.
The monster definitely changed sizes several times during the movie. The one the news copter were following was at least 50 or 60 stories tall, the one the army was fighting might have been 30, and the one they were bombing at the end seemed to grow even bigger when he leaned on that skyscraper. His hand alone was about as wide as that building...

Not to mention the fact that the monster that could be seen from Beth's apartment looked like it was walking on two legs, and was taller than every building it was walking by. To be fair...they might've just messed up when they were making the movie, hoping no one would care? That seems ridiculous, because there's no way JJ Abrams could underestimate internet nerds.
P.S. Hud's "A terrible thing!" and "Another thing, also terrible!" lines in Beth's apartment were probably my favorite.

That's the same thing I said both times walking out of the theater with two different sets of people. Best. Lines. Ever.
