I called Tagruato and got a live person...

Hey guys. I'm shaking in my boots over here. I just saw the movie and thought I'd dial the number to look for changes. On a whim I entered "666666" (six, six times). I got a message saying to enter 9, my mailbox number, and password. I hit "9."

And got a ring.

A woman answered in Korean for all I know (probably Japanese) and I said "hello? I'm trying to get in touch with Tagruato". She reverted to English and said "we are a messaging company - you're trying to get in touch with Ta-gru-a-to?" I said yes, and she told me they were a company called "southco" (or "southko") and not affiliated. I apologized profusely and hung up.

Please, please trout me. World too big I too little. Home plz.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered before. The phone number for Tagruato is just a prerecorded message inbox. There are tons of other legitimate and real businesses using the same company. So by randomly punching in numbers, you got sent to the operator of the inbox service. It's totally OOG and has nothing to do with the movie. All you end up doing is wasting some poor Japanese operator's time and possibly increase your phone bill.

Before I go about trouting this, I'd like to have the OP post what number they actually called. Odd that we've not had a response to say it was a different company as I recall, or at least in the posts Dr. Akward links it doesn't state the name of the company mentioned in this thread. To make the trouting complete basically, that key 'new' detail really should be cited somewhere else if possible.

At any rate, interesting if the OP did dial right and we got a new response - denial of knowing anything about Tagruato.

Well, I dialed the original Slusho number: (011) +81-3-5403-6318. When the pre-recorded message began I hit "666666" (in reference to Jamie's video) and then "9". Sounds like the same answering service as before.

Sorry guys, shoulda done my research. Was up waaaay past my bedtime.

Nevertheless... I think the game is still on. I'll hold off on more phone calls until we get a sign that it is, but if/when the next update comes that message system has SO got to be cracked.
