Question: How full was the theater watching Cloverfield?
Where and when did you watch it? NOTE: SPOILERS IN THREAD

We watched it today at the 10:20am (first run) at the MJR in Chesterfield Michigan. I counted 12 people Confused Not very impressive numbers however it was during work/school hours so maybe the numbers will be greater tonight and tomorrow.

added spoiler clarification to subject description as requested in thread ~rose

Last night at the midnight showing, theatre was packed. I was lucky to get a seat at the very top. People everywhere, kids everywhere. They all laughed, aww'ed and wow'ed at the same time. Truely a great experience.

Yeah, movies before 2 or 3PM are pretty much always empty... That's the trick... I got to see the first two LoTR movies and Harry Potter in prime seats that way.

I wanted to go to the midnight (technically 11:59) showing last night, but it was way too freezing to muster up the energy Sad

Plus, I'm PMSing. It wouldn't be nice to have to be around a ton of people... Evil or Very Mad

Me and 4 others just got back from seeing it at Empire here in Halifax. The theatre was almost completely full. What I found awesome was how a lot of people stuck around for the end of the credits (like we did, of course)...apparently, they knew of the "It's still alive" backwards thing at the end too. It was really cool. Oh, and...

I SAW IT!!!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!! IT'S HUGE!!!!! .....ZOMG!!!!!

I saw the 11:30 showing at Edwards Cinema in Ontario, CA. The theater was less than half full (I didn't count) , but I was surprised to see almost everybody stay until the end of the credits.

My theater was about half full, with a capacity of 355 - so ~175 people. I was glad it wasn't a total mob, because I went to one of those matinée times for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (4pm) and ended up standing in line not surprisingly - but they didn't make any attempt to arrange seating. I didn't have my pre-middle of the line location that I should have gotten, at least with keeping my group intact.

Oooo, sorry about that. The seating was great, we sat dead center. We will definitely go early from here on out. My wife and I were one of only two couples in there. The rest were 40 something shady looking overweight men. I thought we were getting ready to watch some sort of underground porn. Shocked It was disturbing.

I went to the 5:10 show today at a Regal nearby.

The theater was half full. This is Kendall, home of the fake ghetto kids, so people came in expecting "dis is tyte" and came out saying "wat?? so gay". Ignorant people... although I did get a few people noticing my Slusho t-shirt.

Man oh Man!

I caught Cloverfield last night at 12:01 at Graumann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA. The place was 95% full at least and has a capacity of 1,100. We had to stand in line for almost an hour to get in, but it was totally worth it. One of the few movies I've seen in my last few years in the land of self-absorbed people where nobody's cell phone rang and I wasn't disturbed by some idiot's side conversation behind me.

The crowd totally dug it.

Truly a magical night. So going back tonight!

I saw it at midnight at a Drexel right next to Ohio State. They were showing it in two auditoriums; I got there about half an hour early and one of the two was already sold out, with a long line for the other. (There were even a few cops standing around, keeping order, I guess)

By the time the movie started, the theater was packed. When it ended, about half of them left making sounds of disappointment. The other half stayed through the credits, but I don't think they knew about the "it's still alive" thing because many of them talked right through it. Stupid OSU kids. (I go to OSU, too, but I in no way consider myself part of the "college scene.")

Saw in Tucson,AZ.

theater was completely full with the exception of like 6 seats.

really really fun experience.

minus the two stupid greasy guys behind me saying "Lame" and "JJ Abrams you fail" at the end of the movie, because they didnt say where the monster came from.

Idiots....expected a full explanation...pft, that would make it less real from the POV it was in -_-

Not very.

Saw it at 2:30, Jan. 18th, one movie ticket stub I'll keep forever!

There were surprisingly few people at the theater... Maybe its true about most people going after hours...

Funny thing I noticed... absolutely everyone in the theater stayed until the end of the last credits. I thought it was great that not a single person moved when the movie ended.

I think we all need to start carrying lollipops to the showings we attend. When someone whines about not being told everything or shown things in simple 'in your face' style we should go "here, have a lollipop kid".

Saw it last night...Midnight show.
Not sure of theater capacity...maybe 250-300.
Anyway, it was about 95% full...the crowd was great.
