Open Invitation To JJ Abrams please come to unforums Either JJ or Matt Reeves or whomever is linked to the viral marketing campaign, OWES us their presence on UNFORUMS. We have worked our asses off and have told so many people about this movie, and marketed this movie for them without ever asking for anything but one thing.....
ANSWERS
I want to know why the soldier's face was blurred out. I want to know where the JandT.com videos are going. I want to know the answers to the questions that were raised but won't be answered in the movie (which i always knew was gonna be the case.. unless the monster was chasing their creators, we would never know the origin and i accept that).
So JJ, Matt, and the people that created this viral campaign..... YOU OWE US AT LEAST A DAY ON UNFORUMS ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS. WE'VE DONE A LOT FOR YOU AND WE JUST WANT TO TIE UP SOME LOOSE ENDS.
btw, thanks for the campaign you made for us as well.
People, i feel we can either get someone here to do so or maybe we can post our questions and the issues that are left unresolved from this ARG here and maybe they'll get answered. If not, at least we can vent.

Now, if only we could get them here to read the invitation to come here...
or, are they already among us?

well since this is the SOURCE i feel that they've been watching all along to see where we've been, what we've missed and to give us hints on where to go.
I really don't think this wish will be granted but no hurt in trying

my only concern is, how would we know that its actually JJ or Reves? people on this forum are so quick to declare things OOG, trout, etc. If someone came on claiming to be JJ, would we all really just beleive him?

I guess I should tell you this now guys. I'm JJ Abrams. I just wanted to let you know that you all suck and the only reason I made Cloverfield was to make money. Good day.

JJ would be considered a puppetmaster for this, and thus it would be a violation of ToS to post in the forum here about the viral campaign. What has been done for the past ARGs here is a chat with the PMs (on the IRC server I'd guess), and it's possible JJ or Reeves or at least someone from the production could do something like that for us. I'd really prefer something more along the lines of a Stickam chat with video and audio to go with the text, but hey - I'll take what I can get!
It wouldn't be too hard to validate if it was JJ or such. All it'd take is an email from a suitable domain, correct IP, with a valid reply path and 'touch back' message. That and/or a phone number to call that could be confirmed. Of course if it ended up in a video chat, it'd be easy to tell who was real.
I doubt JJ has time. Most likely we'd get a visit from the folks that created and ran the viral campaign.

Amy Powell is Paramount's VP of Interactive Marketing. She's in charge of all of the Cloverfield ARG.

Let's hit her up for some answers!

I do believe it outlines in the Terms of Service that after a game is over PMs are welcome to discuss their game. See: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5

The only exception to this rule is when the game has reached a finite conclusion or ending, where people involved directly with the game are then welcome to discuss their game openly.
Admittedly, it would be cool if a PM showed up here, but it does take some brass ones to demand that people that basically entertained us for free for six months "owe" us anything. I will be back around more once I see the movie tomorrow night, have avoided spoilers so far. Happy 1-18 everyone!

Uh, we don't know this is over. I've seen it now, and I can say there is a significant chance there's more to come.

Good eye Ivo - as I was reading Euchre's post, I was thinking I had
read otherwise at some point. Anyhoo, if this Cloverfield project is
indeed not over (crosses fingers), we may not hear from "The Entertainers"
anytime too soon ... and I agree and expound your sentiments -
if anybody owes anybody anything - we owe Jabramz & Co. some
brownies ...

Yeah, I agree. Though it would be worth a try to get him. Probably the only way we'd know that it was over is if Abrams said it was (and given his mystery box I doubt he'd ever do that - in fact, if you want definitive answers to any questions, best not to go to him at all!).
The guys who delivered the web-content though would be interesting though, what their aims were, how well they think it went, did they change anything cos the players were too damn smart etc.

Never said it was over, just wanted to point that out since your first comment seemed to imply otherwise, no need to snark like metafilter.

My guess is that the game will continue.
This is a reward for those who participated in the ARG; through it we get to know the characters more initimately and learn the origins and future of MGP.

maybe thats the answer of why the movie is set in May. Because even thou we see the movie now, its OOG, and the ARG will continue thru may.
