Just a question on the Timeline

I wasn't really paying attention to the dates of the tapes so forgive me for asking a stupid question but...was the monster attack in may '07 or may '08.

Because if it was shot in may '07 its a pretty big amount of time to now for them to find the tape. I mean its almost 9 months from may until january so what happened in those months???

And if it was shot on may '08 we still have 5 months till the supposed attack took place.

Judging by me reading my own post i gather it was '07
