At the party Rob is near the bar and is talking to someone about "Wondering why he was draggin' me to My fair lady..." it was the set up to get Rob out of his apartment for the party.
Beth to Lily "I'll be at the party but probably a little late."
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Beth was late to the party.
Jamies 11th video she is wearing a Brown skirt brown boots and a Huge heart necklace and mentions going to the party Lil set up.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the movie shes passed out after her SLUSHO! rush and she is wearing the SAME thing!
Lilys blog title DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ICE Bucket?
the content of the blog Why are boys so frustrating and never want to help!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jason obviously wasn't into helpin' lily in the movie. And she shopped for the supplies.
Last but not least a cryptic comment from HUD to Rob Time is an illusion. Lunchtime Doubly so.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I don't think so, Rob specifically says May 23rd(?) during his final speech, I don't know how they could get around that.

110% positive on all these facts. We saw the updates then went to the movie to find that all these confirmations are in there. Before we got out Tag was down. After we got back TIDO was down under investigation.

BTW, Hud's time comment is a Douglas Adams quote.

I've been grappling with this date conundrum all evening. My friend who saw the movie swears that the date of the event was May of 2007, although I thought it was 2008. So first off, can someone confirm this?
I'm rationalizing all of this (in my head) by assuming that all of the IG events happened in the same sequence, you just have to shift the actual dates forward as the newest myspace blogs, jamie video and the movie itself seem to point toward the event happening today or at least today is the IG day of the attack and OOG release of the movie.
I think any dates that we've received in the ARG have just been default dates that you would get when you send a message on myspace or via email and the dates on the pictures from 1-18-08.com could be due to someone never taking the time to set their default date/time on their camera. Have we seen something with a definitive date in it, not an email...like the Tagruato memo...what's the date on that? **NOTE** I haven't taken the time to go back through everything to see if this theory holds water, I will yield that duty to the collective braintrust of this site...for now...until I wake up.
I guess I just have a hard time dealing with what has been a fairly complex backstory and them seemingly screwing it all up by the date irregularity. I hope more info comes out in the coming months to explain this. They clearly had this background ARG going on long before the movie was wrapped up and edited. They could have easily re-shot a scene to account for the date change.
I'm sure this should go in another thread, so if someone wants to kindly point me in the proper location, I'll be happy to move this there.
PS sorry for the rant.

Honestly it amazes me how many people still don't get what happened with the dates.
Using the date in the first trailer was to get people interested in the film.
IT was never intended to be the day the events occurred in the movie.
The director flat out said this. After filming finished and the ARE started they began to realize how much importance people were placing on the date. Also how much interest it generated when people thought the 1/18 was the date things happened. But they had one big problem, they just shot a film with significant scenes set in Coney Island with people riding the rides on a nice spring day. They weren't about to spend the money to reshoot those scenes to reflect winter and everybody knows nobody goes to Coney Island in January. It's not like it's Disneyland. So the date in the film stayed a spring date.
So now they faced the choice of setting all the dates in the ARE 4 months ahead, confusing everybody and possibly hurting the buzz. They certainly weren't going to do that so they just let it ride till a week or so before the film came out and had the Director drop the bomb. By then everyone who had got interested in the ARE was going to see the film regardless and they didn't confuse the average film goer by having people at Coney island in January.
If you want everything to match up then add 4 months and a few days to all the dates in the ARE or just ignore the dates in the film.
But Rob's party and MGP's attack is tonight in the ARE.
Will the ARE go on? To some extent, they are bound to rap up somehow and there is still the Manga but you won't be getting anymore MySpace blogs from Hud, Marlena, Jason, etc that's for sure.

I think they could have easily recitified the situation by excelerating the time line by simply dropping hints on all IG sites about it being spring, which may have pissed some off, but I would've been happy with. It was totally fixable, but they just didn't worry about it.
Everything happened in the same sequence of events, we just now have to push everything up a few months and not rely on email/myspace dates (things they don't really have control over anyway). Its the time-line that's important not the dates. I'm fine with that, just bummed that they let this discrepancy fall through the cracks.

so pretty much we just need to ignore any and all dates of various posts and such in the ARG, and just assume that IG today is/was May 23. i don't think the year is important though, thats why they never give one in the movie.

Do you think that sometime after tonight there will be another
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
video from jamie...because...there is no evidence that she died...however...there is not necessarily a need for another video from her
and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
post from lily...because I reckon she survived for sure...and I don't think they'd leave that stone unturned...

Does anyone actually have a video or sound clip of him saying the date? Does he say it normally or does it sound weird? The reason I am saying this is that the idea came into my head that it may be a reverse like the last line in the movie or something. Maybe it looks like he says May and it sounds like it, but could our ears be wrong? Could there be some hidden message in there somewhere? It just seems like something too stupid for us to build up to this point and have it all be back-asswards in the end. It is just messed up.
