 		TAKES PLACE IN MAY
I know why it does/
Ok so the movie takes place in May because thats when the Dvd comes out and it's like we have the tape when we get the dvd.

And I also don't think the viral marketing will end until May. (If it ever ends.)

agreed... either that or we ignore the dates on myspace and assume that right now is may.... i think that makes more sense.

 		I'd LOVE to believe that the ARE will continue til May. There's just too many loose ends. Or should I say that ALL ends are loose. Nothing's been tied up IMHO.
But, it seems like Paramount is shutting down all the ARE sites. The MySpace pages all seem to be reporting events as though everyone went to the party on the 18th (not in May). Tag's site is shut down for some sort of maintenace. TIDO is locked up tight.
I desperately want to believe that Lily's party referenced on MySpace was a different party. I want to believe that we'll hear more from TIDO (and hopefully Janice). I want to see more of Jamie's fine rear end - even though she's one stupid, crazy chick. And I want to see Tag's reactions to the attack.
But right now, all signs seem to be pointing to an end of the ARE - as little sense as that makes.

Both my memory and the screen shots I've seen on the forum don't show a year on the camera footage - just a day/month and time stamp.

 		I think this may be the case as well, or at least I hope so. I also think that the DVD will come in a cool official government looking case.

This was however discussed in another thread. I will spare you the trouting as I continue to have connection problems. I am sure there will be someone more than happy to give you a fish to the chops.

i thought you were going to say "because there's no way you could go outside in NYC in the middle of the night in January and not freeze your butt off," but that works too

edited to note that it is light out when they come to after the crash at about 7 am. sunrise in NYC on jan 18 is 7:17 am. however, the sunrise on may 23 is 5:31. as i recall, it looks like it's *about* sunrise time when they take off in the helicopter, which is about 6 o'clock. i would agree that it is somewhat dark, but with all the debris in the air, it would look somewhat overcast, and also keep in mind it doesn't get truly "light" outside until several minutes after sunrise.

 		Just to add to the speculation... Robert says SATURDAY May 23... that hasn't occurred since 1998 and will happen again in 2009.

I just saw the movie for the third time and noticed the SATURDAY thing too.

And I noticed what appeared to be a discrepancy in Rob's forehead blood right before the shot where he says the date and the shot where he says the date...which leads me to believe they did a reshoot with Rob saying a different date...I'm guessing he orignally said January 18. I could be looking at it wrong but it looks like a dark patch of blood on his middle of his forehead is different in the two shots

JJ/Drew wouldn't have put the "Saturday" thing in there unless it meant something.... are they setting us up for a prequel then since the movie's plot doesn't take place until next year? could be a good way to rectify the date problems.

 		i hope the dvd comes with an bonus disc or 2 full of all the viral marketing...

it might even piece some things together...cover things we may have missed...
