Their new layout SUCKS! I hate it!
OK that's over with. There are only 9 reviews and none of them are top reviewers so it's pretty meaningless yet. By tomorrow night it will look a lot different. In the end if it gets a Fresh it will be just barely I think.
I don't think this will be a movie which is universally loved.

Watching the RT tracking on Cloverfield is like watching the primary election results. Earlier today it had a freshness rating of 50%, now it's up to 65% freshness. "T-Meter Critics" is currently tracking at a 67% freshness while "Top Critics" are tracking at a 80% freshness rating.
These numbers will no doubt change back and forth and I expect some wild swings over the next few days, however I'm still sticking by my original prediction of an overall "B" grade. One of the drawbacks is Cloverfield is a big target with all the recent marketing hype so you're going to get the haters out in force which will skew the reviews a little.
*FYI* "27 Dresses", which was moved to this weekends release is currently at a 22% freshness rating. Oh well, should have kept the original release date.

Update on RT: Cloverfield's "freshness" is now at 73%. Hopefully continue its upward trend over the next few days.
Edit: There seems to be a conspiracy theory over at RT on some of the forums that new accounts are being created and giving Cloverfield zero stars to bring down the rating.
For example, the T-Meter Critics is currently tracking Cloverfield at a 76% freshness rating, Top Critics is at an 80% freshness rating, but the RT community is tracking at a 45% freshness, which is WAY out of whack with the other two. It would seem that the hype brought out the haters and trolls.

Update: On the eve of its release, Coverfield is holding steady at 75% freshness...the RT community continues to be way out of whack with the other two categories that contribute to the freshness score (49% vs., 75% and 69% in the other two area's) fueling speculation (mine at least) that trolls are signing up to RT and artificially keeping the score low.

Cloverfield is currently at 76% (90-fresh / 29-rotten).
I have to say, that's much better than I was expecting.
