theory...
my final take on the whisper

ive been thinking about this for a while. this is my final theory.

i believe that it is probable that the whisper at the end of the credits is PART of the tape recovered from the rubble. lets say rob survived. hypothetically. im guessing he was knocked out for a good period of time. when he came to maybe he heard or saw the monster and said "its still alive"

im aware that there is no explanation for the reversal. i am aware that the tape was running out (or some have said DID run out) but i believe it to be a good theory. tear me up and pick apart my theory. i do want to hear your opinions.

Sorry, but that wasn't cool at all. I thought King ruined The Dark Tower by doing that.

I'm still firmly in the camp that the audio at the end of the movie was intended to imply that Rob possibly survived and also to paint the fact that there will be a sequel.

Good point, but I was more speaking about the folks he was munching on that Marlena spoke of. I mean to say that his desire to eat people wasn't vengeful or calculated, just a case of 'the munchies'.

So they found the camera in Central Park but they didn't find the two bodies lying next to it? Meaning Rob and Beth got away?

Or they DID find the bodies next to the camera and those words were the last ones Rob spoke.

Sequel, either way. Just not NYC again, please. Confused

Whos to say that rob and beth weren't with the camera when it was found. The only thing we can rule out is that they didn't bring it to the military. They could have been dead with the camera or just found in a rescue party and the camera was taken. And if they WERE alive then that means it could have been robs voice at the very end.[/list]

The 'whisper' at the end was a walkie talkie (or whatever type of radio the military uses) communication. It's mentioned in the article in the OP.
