It was considered a clue at the beginning..for a while...but nah, it's just a goofy saying for a fictional drink. Lotsa 6's yes....since July, I don't believe it's been clearly identified as anything but what it is...a number.

I can't believe I'm the only one that noticed this, but at Robs party, the giant poster on the wall, I can't remember if it was before or during the party though.

The poster was of that popular tsunami wave thing from japan, this thing:

I just thought, you know, a tidowave reference maybe? Something to hint back at the movies Japanese origins? You know, how JJ was on the trip in Japan and saw all the toy shops with Godzilla and stuff.

This was mentioned in an earlier post (that I cant find right now). I think there were actually two of them at his apartment.

Yeah, I wonder if this is what Euchre was alluding to at the beginning of this thread. The thing he was talking about was a "banner" though. Either way, I missed it.

It's been mentioned before, but the less-than-subtle TIDO wave wave on the walls in Rob's apartment... they're all over the place.

[[EDIT: Wow, maybe I should look at the last page before I post next time. I'm too impatient.]]

I know I am new to Cloverfield and all, but:

3 sixes can be written as 666, or the number of teh beast (which is used a lot in horror movies)

also, the scope of teh movie seems to be over teh course of 1 month. (from the begging of the movie to teh point under teh bridge).

Plus, I think we will be having some down time on the ARG/ARE front until Febuary 4.

There could be more 6's, or perhaps less. The only really prominent one, imho, is the Slusho "You can't drink just six"

teh the pwns joo. The orignal footage was taped over, not really a part of the movie. That was just there to show Rob and Beth's relationship.

Why do you think February 4th is a special date?

**edit** We're getting a little off topic. This post is about easter eggs in the movie. I take responsibility for furthering the OT conversations, so let's try and keep specific discussions in the intended threads. **edit**

Here's a thought:

If you chop the movie into thirds (or fourths), you'll see that the 6-4-2 ratio fits relatively well with how many surviving characters are on screen at that moment.

At the beginning, during the party, all of the six main characters are there. Beth leaves and Jason makes his grand exit around a fourth of the way through the movie (remember, I'm talking about real time, not movie time). For roughly fourth of the movie Rob, Lily, Marlena, and Hud make their way towards Midtown to rescue Beth. At roughly the halfway point of the movie, Marlena makes her exit and the group rescues Beth, helping keep the number at four. The last fourth of the movie sees our group slowly pared down to only two (Lily escapes and Hud… well, yeah) : Rob and Beth.

In the part that they are running in the alley and a few people are running in the opposite direction an old man stops hud and says something in a language other than english. Has anyone figured out what the guy says to Hud?

It's nothing substantive. Basically, he's saying "Listen! You don't want to go that way! There's a huge monster and all these little spider-things! Don't go!"
