Earth

Okay, after once again putting together that annoying vegetable/plant/fungi head....what in the world are we supposed to glean from it? Is there a way to "capture" what he says after he's assembled.

I like the vibrancy of this game but I'm lost as to what we're supposed to be doing and what qualifies as clues or passwords...lol...more or less a time waster for me until I can talk someone into helping me out...lol

Gah! I *know* I have pieces where they belong, but they won't stick!

They have to be pretty exact...I've done this one a few times when they were testing. It does become easier once you've done it. After you get the major pieces that are easily seen in place, concentrate on one or two distiguishable pieces when the solution pops up (and where they belong). Before you place something in a position you know it belongs, have in mind what you'll look for when the solution next pops up. Every time I've done this there was inevitably a piece at the end that I just had to move and turn around the blank spots until it fell into place.

I still don't know what we're supposed to do with these puzzles once finished, or how to glean a clue from them. But I am very new to this and hope that eventually I'll get a clue! (Literally!lol)

OK... so when the fruit head is completed, it speaks of Guiseppe Arcimboldo's method. A Google search takes you to a quote from Jan Svankmajer... well not exactly *a* quote, but the exact quote fruit head rambles.

http://www.illumin.co.uk/svank/misc/links/arcim.html

Quote:
What is it? What attracts me so irresistibly to Giuseppe Arcimboldo's method that sometimes I am not even shy of imitation (otherwise so despised)? What sort of force is it which always deafens all rational arguments against it? Is it the evocative force of "Mannerist Prague" to which someone who has lived there all his life succumbs with intense pleasure? Is it the message of Rudolf II himself, secretly crossing the centuries, this new "Hermes Trismegistus"? Or is it a sublimation of memories of childhood masturbation, which psychologists say later manifests itself as a passion for collecting, the accumulation of objects, which is so particular to Arcimboldo's method? Did Arcimboldo ever masturbate in childhood?

[Jan Svankmajer]

There are several referrences to pleasure, passioin, happiness, etc. All of which, by the way, don't work. I've also tried Jan Svankmajer, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Hermes Trismegistus, and yes, even masterbation.

*sigh* ideas anyone?

grrr.... yes. I *know* it has to be right in front of me, but I'm just not getting it.

OK.. so what jumps out at me? What is it? The constant references to.... ah-ha! ...to liking something so much that all reason is left behind.

/me goes to try....
